- - *• KiyKiin Spring Grove Eva Freund 675-2135 IN RED ROOM REVUE-Annie Cuda, Bill Pictor and Allen Cook are pictured in their costumes for the Red Room Revue of St. Patrick's Town and Country. Their room will feature a melodrama dancing, and many songs popular in the early 1900's. In addition to the Revue there will be seven other rooms of entertainment, two restaurants, and a main production. This gala event will be held June 20-21 and 27-28. The doors will open nightly at 7:30 at the Montini Primary center and St Patrick's parish hall, 1700 Washington, McHenry. One Cleart-Up Day For Each Section Of City McHenry will have only one clean-up day for each section of the city this year. Everything must be on the curb by 6 a.m. the scheduled day. Monday, June 16, has been set for north of Waukegan street and east of the railroad tracks; Tuesday, June 17, south of Waukegan street and east of the tr-afks; Wednesday, June 18, south of Rt. 120 and west of the tracks;, ahd Thursday. June 19, north of Rt. 120 and west of the tracks. Nothing should be included that is heavier than two men can lift or carry. All grass clippings, leaves, twigs and other yard and garden debris must {?e in containers. Newspapers must be either tied or bagged. No brush, lumber, or big rocks will be taken, and there will be no shoveling of debris. House Votes To Change Terms Of Legislators The House of Represen­ tatives of the Illinois General Assembly has voted to change the term of legislators. By a 115 to 17 vote, the House directed that this issue be placed before the voters in the next general election. As this issue entails amending the Illinois State Constitution, the voters of the state must ratify the Con­ stitutional amendment by a three-fifths vote of those ac­ tually voting on the issue. Wreath Placed On Memorial Plaque By WW I Veteran Services were observed May 26 at 10 a.m. The American Legion of Richmond and Spring Grove Firemen marched to the memorial plaque in front of the firehouse where a World War I Veteran placed a wreath. On May 25 baskets of flowers had been hung on poles in front of the firehouse and on poles in the town square by the firemen. Baskets were donated by the Lotus Country Women's Club in honor of Memorial Day and the Bicentennial year. The Rev. Len Schoenherr gave the in­ vocation. A trumpet player from Richmond-Burton high school played taps. Refresh­ ments were served by the firemen. BAPTISM Theresa Ann, daughter of Terry and Marge Amore of Round Lake Beach, was baptized during Mass at St. Joseph church, Round Lake, on June 1. The baby's grand­ father. Robert Amore, and Sister Jean Amore were commentator and reader for the Mass. Sister Jean Amore is home on a two week vacation from Big Springs, Texas, where she teaches fourth grade in the elementary school of Im-° maculate Heart of Mary. RICHMOND AREA PIONEER CLUB MEETS Fifty-five members of the Pioneer Club met at the American Legion hall, Rich­ mond, on Tuesday, June 3. A prayer was said by President Marian Pretzman. All mem­ bers who had birthdays in June were given a cup cake with a lighted candle and the group sang "Happy Birthday". A dessert lunch was served lollowed by the opening of the meeting with a pledge of allegiance to the flag. Minutes of the last meeting were read and the Treasurer's report was given. Committee Chairmen gave their reports. Community projects pending on helping with cleaning Nippersink. Tour chairman reported that some members are taking a trip to Chicago on June 9, the June 12 Rustic Barn trip had been cancelled and that there were fourteen seats left on the bus for the June 18 Janesville trip. There was a discussion as to whether or not a meter box in the court yard was essential, this was tabled until next meeting. Committees for the strawberry festival were selected. This event will be on June 28 (rain date, June 29) starting at 10 a.m. in the court yard. The next meeting will be on Tue'sday, June 17. Lunch Committee: Emma Davis, Harry Dietz, Addie Erb, Eva Freund, Violet Feldman, Frank and Carol Guilliame. FAREWELL FOR REV WEGNER Last Sunday a coffee hour was served honoring Rev. Ruth Wegner following her last service in the Ringwood United Methodist church. She is beginning a ministry in Pastoral Care and Education at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago, this week A goodly number of friends attended the coffee hour to wish Ruth well in her new undertaking. McLAKEWOOD 4 H CLUB This month's regular meeting date has been changed to next Monday night June 16, and will be held at the Dennis Rich home in Spring Grove at 7:30 p.m. Don't forget the paper drive coming up on Saturday, June 21. ABOUTTOWN Mr. and Mrs. Russell Soddy of Kenosha visited with Mrs. Nellie Hepburn last weekend. Also calling on Aunt Nellie were the Albert Johnsons of Chicago. Jan Walkington and daughters spent a couple of days with the Paul Walkingtons last week while Jay Walkington went to the Rock River con­ ference. Walt and Doris Low went camping up near Whitewater with the Bob Grahams. 'Twas a wonderful weekend, a little windy but nice, planes flying over along with clouds, a beautiful sight. Florence Juzwiak, 653-9563, is chairwoman for the Hawaiian room at the Town 'N Country, sponsored by St. Patrick's church in McHenry, June 20-21, 27-28. HOORAY Finally the Clarence Adams, Jr., have a daughter. Little Tanya Leigh Adams was born June 5 at 12:26 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs., 3 oz., and had two little brothers, Doug and Chad, to greet her when she arrived home on Sunday with her mom, Ida Mae. Parkview, McCullom Lake, Marie R. (Maja) Olson, died June 9 in Lakeworth, Fla. She was a member of the Ladies auxiliary of the Swedish club in Chicago. ~ Among her survivors are a daughter, Lillian Haskell of Florida; two granddaughters, Barbara Brand McHenry and Virginia Hocin of Florida; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Her husband, Nels H. Olson, preceded her in death Visitation is scheduled after 2 p.m. Thursday in the Nelson funeral home, 820 Talcott Road, Park Ridge, where funeral services will be held Friday at 1 •o'clock Interment will be in Memorial Park, Skokie. Harold Bell, Sr., has his day on June 18 The nineteenth is Robert A. Decker's special day and June 20 is shared by Martha Betts and Ben Jacobs.
