Additional periods of Day camp will begin on July 14, July 28 and Aug. 11. Girl^ and boys who will be 7 years did by Dec. 1 of this year are eligible to register for YMCA Day camp. The camp day begins at 9:15 a.m. at the YMCA building site and ends at 3:45 p.m. The YMCA has more than 5 acres of woods that are used by the day campers, adequate space for land sports, hiking and cook- .outs, and a 25-yard indoor heated swimming pool. Each camper brings his own sack lunch every day. Cold milk is provided to all campers. Registrations continue to be accepted at the Lake Region YMCA for all four periods of Day camp. The YMCA office is at 7315 S. Route 31, Crystal Lake, and is open week days from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Parish In , New Project Agricultural Missions, Inc., is the second project at St. Patrick parish in the in- ternational-national phase of its SOME (So Others May Eat) p r o g r a m . A g r i c u l t u r a l Missions is dedicated to the self-development of people and aims to overcome dependency and desperation in the disad vantaged regions of the world by education in agriculture and rural development. The SOME program at St. Patrick was designed to assist the local needy by cooperating with the McHenry Fish o r g a n i z a t i o n ; m o n t h l y collections of food and staples have helped stock the Fish "pantry". The international- national phase of SOME promotes monetary assistance to organizations dedicated to relief for the needy, par ticularly in the disadvantaged regions of the world. The St. Patrick SOME program was inspired by Bishop O'Neill's plea for sacrifice so that those who have relative abundance may share with those who have less; SOME was conceived as a practical way of responding as a parish community. f VA NEWS EDITOR'S NOTE: Veterans and their families are asking thousands of questions con cerning the benefits their Government provides for them through the Veterans Ad ministration. Below are some r e p r e s e n t a t i v e q u e r i e s . A d ditional information may be obtained at any VA office. Q - The last Civil War veteran died several years ago. Doesn't this make World War I veterans the oldest living veterans group? A " No. As of March 1975, there were 1,085 living veterans of the Spanish-American War, according to the Veterans administration. Q -- Suppose a veteran in s t r u c t e d t h e V e t e r a n s a d ministration to pay proceeds from his National Service Life I n s u r a n c e i n m o n t h l y i n stallments. Would his beneficiary have the right to elect another payment option? A -- Yes, but only if option required payments a longer period of time. Q - Are Vietnam-era veterans taking advantage of current GI Bill education benefits as well as World War II veterans under the original GI Bill? A -- Yes. During the first 97 months of the current Bill, 53.2 per cent of the Vietnam-era veterans and servicemen took advantage of their education benefits. This compares to the 50.5 per cent who used benefits during a similar period after World War II under the original GI Bill. Another Trip? : Looks like the astronauts are turning out like a lot of other tourists. All they do is talk about their trip!
