Students Are Sought For Holy Land In 1976 McHenry County college is looking for students who wish to tour the Middle Kast next summer <1976>. Plans have been formulated by the college for a four-week tour beginning in mid-July 1976 to Egypt, Lebanon, Israel and its Holy Land, Greece and Italy. Two faculty members, Charels Ham, Division of Humanities, and Efwin Cor­ nelius,Division of Social Sciences, will lead the tour. College credit for THE MID­ DLE EAST AND HOLY LAND EXPLORER "1976 tour will be offered through McHenry County college. Students may take one or both of the courses offered during the trip: The Cultural Crucible of the Bible (Mr. Ham) deals with developments in the Middle East and Christian world in Biblical times. Social Patterns of the Islamic Middle East (Mr. Cornelius) traces Islamic Civilization in the post-Biblical era. In addition to pre-departure seminars to be held at the college, the two faculty members will give lectures at actual historical sites in the host countries. Students planning to make the trip are also encouraged to take either or both of the following courses as a further introduction to the tour: The Bible as Literature (Mr. Ham) and Introduction to International Realtions (Mr. Cornelius). Both of these courses will be offered during the regular summer session in 1976 Tour participants will live abroad in student housing. They will take guided tours of the major historical and biblical sites in the six coun­ tries visited. Guest lectures are being arranged by government officials, civic leaders, or host country professors. Students will also have planned informal discussion sessions with fellow students from the host coun­ tries. i Total cost of the four-week tour, including transportation, accommodations, guide and transfer services; and some meals is expected to be about $950 plus tuition to the college. A maximum of six credits may be earned during the trip. To be eligible, a student must be under 31 years of age and a full- time student at any college or university during the fall or spring 1975-76.
