Helmeid, as Orgon, in dress rehearsal for the production of Tartuffe to be presented July 25, 26, and 27 by the MCC Four-Dimensional theatre. MCC Theatre Will Present 17th Century Play The Four- Dimensional theatre of McHenry County college will present Tartuffe by Moliere July 25, 26, and 27. The production is a 17th century costume piece and will be performed outdoors on the interim campus in Crystal Lake. Tartuffe was first performed before Louis XIV at Versailles in 1664. In order to appease clerical circles, the King for bade future performances of the play; but five years later he permitted it to be acted in public. Since that time Tartuffe has been played cbnsistently on the Continent, and frequently in the United States. • The part of Tartuffe is played by Doug Dunham, Woodstock; Madame Moliere-Joann Mozak, Crystal Lake; Madame Pernelle-Laura M. Flynn, Fox River Grove; Elmire-Nanette Hull, Woodstock; Dorine-Mark K. Flynn, Fox River Grove; Da mis-Richard Golbeck, Woodstock; Mariane-Mary Doherty, Crystal Lake; Cleante-Robert Flynn, Fox River Grove; Flipote-Rose Burton, Harvard; Monsieur Orgon-K.C. Helmeid, Wood stock, Valere-Edward Sobc- zynski, Crystal Lake; Loyale- Randy Fabos, Woodstock; and officer-Ken Fabos, Woodstock. For the performance on Sunday evening, July 27, James Kenna and the cast invite all senior citizens to be guests of the Four-Dimensional theatre. They may pick up their com plimentary tickets at the door. The French comedy portrays Monsieur Orgon being deceived by the hypocritical cant of the beggar Tartuffe. Orgon gives him the run of his house, plans to give him his daughter in marriage, and even signs over his estate to him. By the time he is finally convinced of Tartuffe's lechery and dishonesty, Tartuffe reminds him that he now owns the house, and that he has denounced Orgon to the King. In court Tartuffe is recognized as a criminal, Orgon's house and honor are restored and his daughter is free to marry the man she loves. in Our Tfme FELIX E.
