The pastor can be reached at 728-0516. Governor Asks Conformity With Aid Formula Fund Gov. Dan Walker has in formed the state board of education it must conform to the approved funding of the distributive aid formula in making payouts, to school districts around the state. Failure to adhere to the approved amount would be il legal, Gov. Walker warned, and could also lead to a chaotic situation at the end of the school year, forcing the closing of schools. Gov . Walker made his views known in a letter to Jack Witkowsky, chairman of the state board of education. Gov. Walker also wrote to Board of Trustees Makes Various Appointments At the July 16 meeting of the Board of Trustees a number of appointments were made to a variety of offices. Mr. Kunzer. Mr. Kamrat and Mr. Koleno were appointed by President Lillegard to the planning commission which now has five members,^ith 2 more yet to be appointed. * Two additional people. Donna Gunder and George Valaski. were added to the Zoning Board of Appeals. This brings the Zoning Board whose chairman is Fred Szott to a full mem bership of seven Two new policemen were appointed. William Miller who will only stay with us until he returns to college and Daniel Bixlef. The proposed ordinance for continuously barking dogs as well as the proposed changes for the impounding of dogs were presented and will be acted upon at the next board meeting. The purchasing committee is sti l l investigating the price of a chain saw. Trustee Don Henderlong, chairman of parks, reported that the new light at the beach will be put up shortly. The light was donated by Mr. Jones. The new walk bridge as well as the swing sets are already up, thanks to the combined efforts of the village and the Shoreline Club. The vacancy on the Board was discussed, with five names under consideration. A decision will be reached at the next board meeting on Aug. 6. An air conditioner was loaned to the village hall for 90 days through the courtesy of Miss Ann Sedav. There being no further business, the meeting ad journed at 9:40 p.m. OPEN HOUSE A SUCCESS . KNOW YOUR VILLAGE OFFICIALS Here is a new feature of this column: a few lines each week about the people who par ticipate actively in our local government. Since most of you will come in contact with the village clerk at one time or another it was decided to tell you about her first, and then about our treasurer. Delores Norman was a write- in candidate for village clerk in the election last April , and she is already doing a superb job. Her office hours at the village hall are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 2 to 4 p.m. She lives on Riverside Drive with her husband, Norman, a truck driver by profession, and her two younger daughters, Christine, 8, and Charlene, 7. Two older children, Marilyn and Roger, are already married, and Delores also has a 6 year old grandson. Jackie Mateja has been treasurer since April . Although she has no previous experience in government she was well qualified for the job because she had formerly worked for the McHenry State Bank.
