Strung out in Class C, Heide Kuhen for first, Ellen Leonard second and Jo Karns in third. It was a real ball and the girls are looking forward to doing it again. The Championship tour nament is^next on the agenda for four weeks play, culminating with the Trophies going to the best players in A, B and C Class at the Luncheon on Aug. 28th. (STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD) Horses To Be In Limelight At County Fair The variety of events and the number of enthusiastic people heading the committee attest to the growing number of horses that will participate during the 1975 McHenry County Fair at Woodstock July 30-Aug. 3. More than 250 4-H boys and girls will vie in the 4-H horse show at 9a.m. Wednesday, July 30, opening day of this twenty- seventh McHenry County Fair. Two days of harness racing- on the first two afternoons-will attract additional entries. A pony show is on Friday, Aug. 1, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and will run all day- one day only. Heading this event this year is Mrs. Iris H. 'Slovacek, Crystal Lake. The All-Western Horse show is set to start at 9 a.m. Satur day, Aug. 2, with prize money totaling $1,700. A Junior Horse show Sunday, Aug. 4, starts at 9:30 p.m. and this, too, will be an all-day event. Hold Carnival For Benefit Of Dystrophy Fight A neighborhood carnival against dystrophy will be held Aug. 2 at 814 Annabelle, Pistakee Highlands. Mike P. Briggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Briggs, will serve as ringmaster, assisted by Dave and Chuck Briggs, Gina Rit- torno, John Tatro and Mark Leslie. Beginning at 1 p.m. the carnival will feature such games as toss-a-cross, bowling green, darts, bean bag toss and a magic show. All proceeds will go to aid the fight against dystrophy and related diseases afflicting millions.
