Arrested were Charles T. Donner,\l7, of 711 W. Washington street, Ralph J. Henning, 20, of 5007 Marengo road, Gerald Lee Powell, 20, of 4208 Route 23 and Donald E. Powell, 23, of 404"2 Jefferson street, all of Harvard.- Bond for each was set at $20,000 and they are to appear in court Thursday, Aug. 28. According to Sheriff's deputies, the offenders were apprehended last Thursday night with the assistance of Harvard police. Two other persons were apprehended along with the four youths. They have been released pending further investigation into their participation in the incident. One was a juvenile, police reported. County police charge that the offenders were involved in the vandalism of many traffic" signs in the Harvard area the night of Saturday, Aug. 16. As the result of the removal of a stop sign at the intersection of Streit road and Illinois Route 23, a car and semi-trailer truck collided the following Sunday morning, killing Cyd Cato, 14, Stuart Cato. 13, and their stepmother, Mrs. Sheila Cato, 32. The children were from Streamwood and Mrs. Cato was from Chicago. According to county officials, the Accident Investigation unit worked around-the-clock in order to gain information regarding the vandalism. They said that the public aided in the apprehension by information furnished officials. Members of the Accident Investigation unit who con­ ducted the investigation which led to the arrests were Deputies Anthony Olszewski, Edgar Fair and Michael Keane. Charges against the of­ fenders will be brought before the Grand jury Sept. 2, State's Attorney William Cowlin stated. NO CLASSES Montini Catholic schools will not have classes Friday, Aug. 29, although it had been listed as a school day. St. Mary's parking lot will be blacktopped on that day, and that fact along with the Labor day vacation necessitates the off day. Neither the Montini Middle school nor the Montini Primary center will have classes. Deaths JO M BELLAIRS Jo M Bellairsof 10006 Hidden lane, Woodstock, general manager and partner of Radio Stations WIVS and WXRD, died Aug. 22 in Lutheran General hospital. Park Ridge. She was 57 years old. A graduate of Marquette university in 1940, she married Malcolm K Bellairs a year later in Chicago. She was active in on-the-air broadcasting and had served generously in behalf of local organizations and worthwhile endeavors. Besides her husband, she is survived by seven children. A funeral Mass was offered at 11 o'clock Monday in St. Mary's Catholic church, Woodstock, with burial in Windridge, Car'y. A memorial has been established in her name for the McHenry County Cancer fund in care of the State Bank of Woodstock. A family request has been made that this fund be used in the McHenry cd^ty area. MYRTLE SCHWARTZ Myrtle Schwartz, 78, 7610 Widoff drive, Wonder Lake, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 26, at Memorial hospital, Wood­ stock. She was born June 9, 1897. She is survived by her husband, William. They seek reclassification of property presently zoned "F" farming to "E-2" estate district, for residential purposes. The property contains about an acre of unimproved land and is part of, and bounded on the north, east and west by farm property owned by Alfred B. and Eleanor L Miller.
