Garlinski celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Sept. 25 by hosting a dinner party Tor friends and relatives at McHenry Country club. Among those attending were their son, Richard, and his wife. Carol, and children, John and Tom, from Wonder Lake: grandchildren, Richard and Debra, from McHenry; and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Godina of McHenry and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gjermo of Niles. Out of state relatives at­ tending were Mr. and Mrs. William Poznecki of Arivaca, Ariz.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bukowski of Pomona. Calif.; and Ms. Jean Wills of Palm Springs, Calif. The celebrating couple were married Sept. 26, 1925 in Holy Trinity Church, Chicago. MR. AND MRS. MICHAEL ROGERS EXCHANGE VOWS - Veronica Sue Bierman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Bierman of 711 S. Cherry Valley road, McHenry, exchanged nuptial vows with Michael James Rogers, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Rogers of 2310 W. Country lane, McHenry, on Sept. 6, 1975, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran church before Pastor Herman F. Graef. Kathleen Longh way Wears Mother's Wedding Dress A pretty fall wedding was solemnized in St. Mary's Catholic church Saturday. Oct. 4. when Kathleen Longhway became the bride of Donald G. Etten. They repeated their vows before the Rev. Joseph F. Kulak at the 2:30 services in a church decorated with bouquets of fall flowers ac­ cented with green and orange colors. Special music presented at the ceremony included. "The Wedding Song", "The Lord's Prayer", "O Perfect Love", "Prayer of St. Francis" and "Ave Maria." The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James G. Longh­ way of 4125 Crystal Lake road. McHenry, and the groom's parents - are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence J. Etten of Ringwood. The petite bride wore her mother's wedding gown of ivory satin with an over skirt of chantilly lace with a matching bolero jacket of chantilly lace which covered the strapless bodice. Small satin buttons trimmed the jacket front and cuffs. Mrs. Sandy Etten of McHenry attended the bride as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Claire Fair, Mrs. Vicky Spears and Mrs. Sue Wirch, all of McHenry. Little Diane Etten served as flower girl. The matron of honor wore a formal length green dress with a chiffon caplet of orange, green and white. The bridesmaids wore similar gowns in deep orange. The flower girl was dressed identical to the matron of honor. Al Etten attended the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Kenneth and Mike Etten and Greg Longhway, Master Brian Etten served as ring bearer. Ushering duties were handled by Jim Longhway and Jim Etten. For her daughter's wedding. Mrs Longhway chose a floor length, long sleeved gown of rust quiana knit trimmed with a gold and pearl pin and pearl accessories. The groom's mother wore a shrimp colored floor length knit gown with silver accessories. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception for about 225 friends and relatives was held at the Branded Steak House, Crystal Lake. Upon their return from a wedding trip to Wisconsin, the newlvweds plan to make their home in McHenry. The bride is a 1973 graudate of MCHS and is employed as a secretary at Bryant-Longhway Agency. The groom graduated from MCHS in 1969 and works as a supervisor at Rae Cor­ poration. Senior Citizens Hear Kitchen Band At Fall Dinner There were almost 200 at the Fall smorgasbord dinner of the McHenry Senior Citizen club- and about 250 at the meeting following the dinner to enjoy the program given by the McHenry Senior Citizen's Club Kitchen Band. All present enjoyed the lively program. The next meeting of the McHenry Senior Citizens club will be on Monday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at East Campus cafeteria. The program for the evening will be given by John R. Steele, chairman of the Board of the Waukegan National Bank, and will be "Underwater Treasures of the Great Lakes", and should be most interesting and en­ tertaining. On Monday, Oct. 27, the program will be an"Art Exhibit" under the direction of Alf Heggeland. Members were reminded of the swimming for Senior Citizens at West Campus on Thursday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. You can enroll at a very nominal cost at the ad­ ministration building on Main street. For further information on the "Arm Chair Yoga" classes contact either Mrs. Giel or Mrs. Chermak. i Three bus loads have made reservations for the Ice Capades in November; - and Mrs. Giel requests payment for their reservations promptly. Mr. Giel reports the bowling is going very well and invited new members to contact him regarding getting involved in the bowling sessions. Special music presented at the ceremony included "We've Only Just Begun", "The Lord's Prayer" and the "Wedding Song".
