MR. AND MRS. FRANK SCHAFER Frank Schafers Enjoy Touring East Coast Marcella and Frank Schafer of Dutch Creek Woodlands just returned from a month traveling to the East Coast in their motorhome with their grandson, Gary Schwall, and also accompanied by the Kuchlings of Deerfield, in their own motorhome pulling a 22 ft. cabin cruiser. At Gibraltor, Mich., they cruised Lake Erie to Canada, and were entertained at a famous inn where they were re- acquainted with an old friend. Max Schiebold, now mayor of Lincoln Park, Mich., a suburb of Detroit. It was a wonderful time to review both family activities; and then Mayor Schiebold invited the Schafers to a private meeting in his council chambers, which was quite an experience. At Baltimore, Md , they were again entertained this time at a famous restaurant for a complete crab dinner, famous in Baltimore, sitting at a table with the owner. A most en joyable evening. In Ocean City it was won derful swimming in the Atlantic Ocean but they did not enjoy the deep-sea fishing, waves tossed the cruiser around like a cork, but they did enjoy the fishing and crabbing in the Chesapeake Bay, having a steamed crab dinner from the crabs they caught. A new ex perience. They then toured Annapolis Naval Academy, watching the football practice, listening to the band concert and also organ recital in the chapel, fascinated by the marching Plebes greeting their families for parent week, and then eating in the huge armory, very military. They re-visited Washington, DC., and all the main at tractions too numerous to describe. After that they toured Gettysburg, Pa., which their grandson, Gary, really enjoyed and they noted all the changes since their previous visit there. But. again, they are thankful for a wonderful trip and happy to be back again in good ole McHenry.
