•AGE N IV MM)!-; M.KR-WKDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 1975 Lakemoor-Lilymoor Sue Reese . 385-7859 Sewer °roject /ofe Soon Nov. 1 is coming fast. If there ire any residents who still have any questions about the sewer project please call a village soard member. Here are some figures which vvere quoted by Mr. Heck of Baxter and Woodman (engineer), and Harold Warren af Warren association (financial consultant). The State of Illinois has of fered the village of Lakemoor a grant for 75 percent of total cost of a sewage treatment plant. The project, is estimated to cost $1,546,000. Our village must finance only $437,000. Twenty- five percent of the cost may seem large, but if we don't take advantage of this grant, in a few years we may have to pay the total cost instead of 25 percent. „ Residential users will pay $11 per month. Commercial users will pay $16 per month for operating expenses of the system. The tax- rate will be ap proximately $.46 per $100 of assessed valuation or $4.60 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. Each residential unit con necting to the system will be required to pay a $300 con nection fee. It's important that everyone take advantage of this lower fee. A total of $10 or $15 a month could be paid in advance in order to reduce the final payment. After May 1 of 1976 connecting fees could go up. All of this is what your vote will mean. A small price for . what we will receive. Voting is from 6 a.m. to 6 p m. at the municipal building. HALLOWEEN PARTY There will be a Halloween party for children of the village Oct. 31. Hours are 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lakemoor municipal building, sponsored by Parents for Youth. There will be prizes for pumpkin carving, three categories, tnost original, most scary, and funniest. Illinois chapters of the National Organization for Women (NOW) have released a rating of Illinois legislators for the spring 1975 session of the 79th General Assembly. The rating, compiled by the Springfield chapter of NOW, rated the legislators on six issues of importance to women: the Equal Rights Amendment, emergency treatment to rape victims, the prohibiting of using a rape victim's past sexual history in court, prohibiting discrimination in educational institutions and in credit application, and the restriction of present abortion laws. Maureen Rogman of Woodstock, state coordinator, said. "This is the second time we've rated Illinois legislators and the first time we've given the Governor a rating." Local legislators received the following ratings: Sen. Schaffer, 80 percent; Rep. Skinner, 90 percent; and Rep. Hanahan, 30 percent. Governor Walker received a 100 percent rating based on his signing or vetoing of the bills and his public support of ERA. Five bills were included. The Rape Victims Emergency Treatment act (HB 271) provides emergency hospital service to rape victims regardless of their ability to pay for it. The rape bill (HB 274), which provides that the past sexual conduct of the rape victim with persons other than the accused shall not be ad- missable as evidence, passed the House but was stalled in Senate committee. "No" votes were given credit on the abortion bill (HB 1851), which attempted to re-write the Illinois Abortion law by stating that it is the longstanding policy of this state to protect the right to life of the unborn child from conception by prohibiting abortion unless necessary to preserve the life of the mother..."; by requiring a woman wanting an abortion to get the consent of her husband or her parents if she is a minor; and by prohibiting saline •6 VAt til HALLS Cough Drops PRELL Liquid or Concentrate FIRESIDE Sugar Honey Grahams Bag of 30 Assorted flavors 16 ounce Contains 3 in dividual packs to keep arahams fresh.
