ASSIST BAZAAI-The» McHenry Shores Shoreline club will hold a pre-holiday bazaar and bake sale in the village hall at 3211 Beach drive Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21 and 22. A special booth at the bazaar will feature items made by teen-agers of McHenry Shores. Proceeds will be used to purchase recreational equipment for the beach and park in the subdivision. Sale hours are Friday, Nov. 21, from 7 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend the event. Dave Ewald and Neva Colberg add the finishing touches to a wall plaque made of wood and seashells for the bazaar. Pioneer Club Thanksgiving Dinner Set At the Nov. 3 meeting of the senior citizens Pioneer club, plans were completed for the Thanksgiving turkey dinner which will be held at Andre's, Richmond, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. Reservations were checked and tickets distributed. Anyone who has not made a reservation should contact A1 Tomasek or Frank Heinemann before Nov. 15. There were fifty-two members present at the meeting. Six members who had birthdays this month were extended birthday greetings. A dessert lunch was served, after which meeting was opened with a pledge of allegiance to the flag. Frieda Wolff told of Mrs. Lillian Schubert of Silver Lake being honored by the Schulz-Hahn American Legion auxiliary. She was presented a 6ilver key and made Lady of the Year of Unit 293. She also told of how FISH will supply tran­ sportation for emergencies and gave the phone number; 678- 5012, to be called from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. President Marian Pretzman announced that glaucoma tests would be given at the firehousC Wednesday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. free of charge, sponsored by the Lions club. The McHenry County Senior Citizen's council Local Couple Repeat Vows On Saturday Zion Lutheran church was the scene of the wedding of Miss Janice L. Harris and Mark E. Gibson, Saturday, Nov. 8, at 4 o'clock. The Rev. Herman Graef officiated at the service, for which Sandee Garske of McHenry, the bride's friend, furnished organ music and sang "Because" and "Dearly Beloved". Miss Harris is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Harris of 1709 North avenue, McHenry, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gibson, 3703 Claremont road, McHenry. Given in marriage by her father and mother, the petite bride chose an empire fashioned chapel length gown of sheer organza, adorned with Venice lace and apricot colored satin ribbon. It featured a sculptured neckline, fitted bodice, and wrist length, bishop sleeves. Venice lace enhanced the border of her gown. She wore a chapel length mantilla veil, bordered with Venice lace, secured to a face framer crown, highlighted with Venice lace. She carried white pom urges members and all senior citizens in the county to avail themselves of the free diabetic screening that will take place druing Detection week which begins Nov. 16. Appointments can be made with any hospital in the county for the screening. Frances Heinemann gave a report on articles needed at the Pioneer center and of any help the club cold give to make its Christmas pleasant. A trip to Old Chicago and Woodfield on Nov. 20 was suggested by the tour chairman. By-laws were reviewed. The occasion was the annual Department Presidents' luncheon which is sponsored by Districts one, two, three, four, five and sixteen, held Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Pick-Congress hotel in Chicago. Members from the Ladies auxiliary to VFW Post 4600 who attended the luncheon were Renee Jende, president; Mickey Walters, senior vice-president; Gerry Kuck, secretary; Ila Hogan, treasurer and Mary Kuemmel, patriotic instructor. The bride's mother chose a mint green, floor length dress and the bridegroom's mother wore a print floor length dress with tangerine top. Both mothers had orchid corsages. A reception for 175 guests was held at the American Legion home. The young couple will live in McHenry.
