Brady of Waukegan, formerly of McHenry last week announced his withdrawal from the judgeship race. He listed as a reason the fact that two others, one a Republican and the other a Democrat, had announced their intention of seeking the office. While the Ladies of the Lake will have no regular meetings until the month of March, they granddaughter make her first Communion. And this is the first time he had seen his grandson, Anthony, who is four years old. Mr. Martini will be going back to Italy in about a week. CONGRATULATIONS A belated wedding wish goes out to the Bill Walters family, their son Bruce was married to the former Sharon Kreimier on Dec. 21 at the Shepherd of the Hills church in McHenry. Bruce is on his way to Germany wiih the service and his wife will follow him as soon as she finishes school. We all wish them all good things for their life together. VACATION NEWS A nice six-week vacation was enjoyed by Irene and Harry Johnson, They went to visit ir daughters, first they went Houston, Texas and on the way back they went to see their 'daughter living in Macomb, II. The Christmas holidays were enjoyed by all and they say the weather was beautiful. NEW RESIDENTS We have two new families living on Lakeshore drive. They are Ron and Barb Svoboda and their two daughters, Cindy, 5, and Amy, 2. The Svoboda will resume on the second T family i re formerly from South Thursday of the month. The mothers of McCullom Lake will march for the March of Dimes from Jan. 18 through Jan. 25. BEACH HOUSE NEWS The kids of the village will be glad to hear that the village hall will be open to them on Monday and Friday evenings from 6:30 p m.40 9:30 p.m. Also, archery is hel5*on the first and third Sundays of the month from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. FISH DERBY We will be having another Fish Derby this year. The dates have been set for Feb. 7 and 8. The Beach Girls will be serving food from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bar will serve from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Conservation club is sponsoring the Ice Fishing Derby. ITALIAN VISITOR There has been a very welcome visitor at the Sergio Martini home. On Dec. 17, Mr. Martini's father came to visit them from San Remo, Italy. The Illinois state police report that an organization known as the Troopers Alliance has been formed, with one of its purposes being the publication of a quarterly magazine en­ titled "The Trooper." Captain Herald D. Crockett, commander of the state police district which includes DeKalb, DuPage, Kane. Lake and McHenry counties, said that the Troopers Alliance currently has representatives soliciting for advertising space from businesses in central Illinois.
