VI Form Parent Organization For Lamaze A parent organization has recently been formed in McHeitry county for couplet who have received Lamaze instruction. The overall goals of this group are to promote Lamaze and to educate. themselves as better parents. Toward this end, a seminar was held Feb. 3 at Woodstock hospital with Dr. Han, pediatrician, as the guest speaker. His talk was in formative and enjoyable. , A general meeting is planned for Feb. 25, when a E.N., Janet Smith, twill discuss "Life-post partum." Also, an important function of the group, "The Mother's Help Line", will be evaluated and discussed. On March 11, a meeting is planned for both parents at Marian Central high school in Wood stock. Lions Social Night To Benefit Service Activities Saturday evening, Feb. 21, will see the McHenry Lions club hosting a social night at the McHenry American Legion Post 491 on Ringwood road. The Lions s^re out to top last year's very successful event, with proceeds used to further their community service and blind activities. Festivities will begin at 8 "p.m., according to William Thomas, chairman for the event. There will be a fine band for dancing. Tickets are available from any member of the Lions club. The McHenry Lions club conducts its activities throughout the year to support its active program of service to the blind, and for funding of numerous community projects. Recent works by the Lions include a Lions fountain for the city park and another for the new Petersen park, plus a complete ball diamond and backstop for Petersen park. Arnold Rauen Is Namod To Savings Board Arnold J. Rauen was recently elected to the board of directors of McHenry Savings and Loan association. The announcement was made by board chairman, Robert C. Winkle. Well known throughout the McHenry arfea, Rauen is president of the Bank for Savings and Loan Associations, Chicago. He was formerly midwest director of the Treasury department's savings bond program. He was a justice of peace in McHenry Township for 20 years and also a member of the township's board of auditors.
