FIFTY YEARS AGO (Taken from the file* of March 4, 1926) With the appointment by the Rt. Rev. P.J. Muldoon of Rev. William A. O'Rourke of Rock- ford as pastor of St. Patrick's church in this city, the parishioners of that parish may be certain that they are being directed by a priest who has their interests alone at heart, while the citizens of Mchenry will in the near future come to regard the new pastor as their true friend. Father O'Rourke states that ever since he began his work in Illinois, his greatest desire had been to have charge of the church in McHenry. He loves the location, the river, everything about the place. The McHenry Fire depart­ ment will sponsor a big dance at Stoffel's hall, West McHenry, on Wednesday evening, March 17.
