Turgeon, University of Illinois Extension turfgrass specialist. Homeowners may learn how to establish a new lawn or improve and maintain an existing one through two programs of the University of Illinois horticulture TeleNet series to be aired April 5 and 19, says George Young, McHenry County Extension adviser. Turgeon will explain the first step in establishing a good lawn~the selection of the right seed. He recommends pur­ chasing quality seed of adapted grass species and varieties. High-quality seed generally costs more, but it is a small investment when you consider that the lawn will last for many years.
