Over 7,785 Form 5329's (Return for Individual R e t i r e m e n t S a v i n g s Arrangement) have been filed. Approximately 40 percent, or 3,114, were incorrect. Form 5329 is a return that provides a means for determining the allowable deduction on Form 1040 for contributions to a retirement savings plan. Form 5329 and Form 5498 (Participation in Individual Retirement Accounts or An nuities) are both filed with tax Form 1040 by people who have retirement accounts or in dividual retirement annuity plans. However, Form 5498 is not required if the type of funding is through the purchase of Individual Retirement Bonds and Part 1, Item 1 (c) on Form 5329 is checked. The IRS reports that many taxpayers have failed to attach the Form 5498 to the 1040 and 5329. Others are failing to sign the form or indicate their age and complete other iteihs on the page. These omissions delay the processing of the return. Now In Stock Olympic Stains OIL • ACRYLIC - OVERCOAT 909 N: Front ALEXANDER LUMBER McHenry, III.
