Sophomore Ball Team Splits Pair Of Games The McHenry High sophomores split a«pair of games Saturday at Woodstock. In the first game they defeated Woodstock 3 to 1 behind the four hit pitching of Bobby Hansen. The young southpaw also struck out 7. In the second game Grant defeated the local sophs 13 to 7. Dave Covalt was the starter and loser although he had to retire because of an injury, and Ron Vance came in and pitched the final four innings. The young Warriors committed five errors which led to their downfall. Carol Petty and Jo Moore gave follow-up reports from last month's guest speaker, Suda Paramon. The talked about ceremonies and foods of Malaysia Following these talks. Lucy Byrnes gave an interesting speech about sketching and drawing. She showed us some beautiful sketches she had done in school When Lucy finished her speech, Jo Moore gave an interesting talk about child care and how to make a safe clay for children to play with. She demonstrated how to make it and showed us how it turns out. After refreshments were served, we played kickball and the meeting was adjourned.
