The 1975 season saw the girls -all eleven of them-and the new coach, losing seven meets out of seven. But things have changed. The new season brought 54 girls to the team tryouts, 38 of which are still on the squad. The first meet, held at West Campus against Zion-Benton, ended with the score McHenry-6, Zion-Benton - J. In Badminton, as in Tennis, the best three singles matches and the best four doubles matches count toward the final meet score. The girls who made this victory possible included: Mary CJoetschel, Annette Hansen, Laurie Hohmann, Jane Liptrot, Sue Meyer, Sue Miller, Sudha Paraman, Kathy Quist, Kathy Rogers, Lisa Schro«4er, and Dianna Unger. Thj#exftibition matches were equal in wins and losses: exhibition players in Monday night's meet were: Kathy Bavetz, Kristy Day, Mary Gattone, Kathy Herdrick, Ann Hickey, Lynda Lindberg, Darlene Mann, Karen Mann, Molly McGown, Jan Novak, Laurie Otlewis, Tammy Ray, and Mary Seaver. The next three home meets are against North Chicago on April 28, against Lake Forest on May 3, and against Barrington on May 5. From Norfolk, Va. comes a column clipped from the local paper. No way of knowing who remembered us, but the name Norfolk rings a bell. Must look at the records. Anyhow, the column written by Sports Editor George Mc Clelland is titled. "Hiller Answers When Majors Call." Of course, it covers much of Chuck Hiller's career. Whitey Herzog is now the manager at Kansas City, and the pride of Johnsburg, Chuck Hiller. is the third base coach. Like ham and eggs, where you find Herzog, Hiller can't be far behind. Doug Buffone, star linebacker of the Chicago Bears, spoke to Rotary members last Thursday and went over big. 6 Buffone is a veteran, but looks more like a young athlete just out of college. Said he works out every day to keep in condition. He look fit. Note to Jack and Bev Justen: You may say "The Pack Is Back." We hope so, but please warn your favorites that the Bears are breathing down their necks.
