MOVIE COMMENT "Editors ""The Bad News Bears', a movie about a youngsters' baseball 'league, is currently playing at area theaters. It is rated PG, parental guidance recommended. •'The title and content of this movie make it particularly attractive to pre-teens. Parents may be wise to see the movie first before allowing their pre- teen to view it. " 'Bad News Bears' shows children engaged in bad sportsmanship, dirty fighting, foul language, drinking and gambling, all in the name of playing baseball. The adults in the movie, too, both managers and parents, behave in a similar fashion. It is a funny movie but in almost a 'sick' humor vein. If there is a moral to the story, it is not obvious. "Because children tend to identify so closely with others their age, it is very easy for them, to imitate what they see in movies involving children. This would be doubly dangerous because the adults in this film seem to condone much of the bad behavior. "An adult can judge this movie. A child may be too turned on in seeing his peers in action to question its morality. • *"Mrs. Marion Olsen" IRSCUTBACK "Dear Editor: "On April 20,1976,1 and other personnel in our office were informed that the Internal Revenue Service is planning on closing the Woodstock office for "the good of the service." This means that any problems or questions which may arise, must be settled through the office which is determined by IRS management, regardless of the problems it may cause you, the American taxpayer!
