One of our favorite cousins, Margaret Costello Westerman, passed away and, as usual, we met many relatives at the funeral-- many who we hadn't seen in a long time. Time passes on and one of the finest persons who ever lived has left us. There should be more family reunions instead of waiting for a funeral. His antics got him bounced again in the second game. From stories out of Washington D.C. about tapes, 'twould seem wise for our law makers to look under the bed before retiring. Seems good to have our neighborhood back to normal. The Hanfords have returned from the north where they didn't catch too many fish. They probably heard the story -- "You should have been here last week." Alvina now has a windmill in our back yard so Ford says he is going to check on which way the wind is blowing before he goes fishing around here. Baseball caps weren't made for bushy hair. Every time a player makes a quick dash his cap falls off. Betcha Bill Veeck can think of a new design. Seems funny they haven't asked us. Bucky Dent has been in a terrible batting slump. He chokes up on the bat and stands way back from the plate. So the pitchers give him pitches on the outside corner. There wouldn't be any charge for our advice. Way back when, we knew a girl named Bessie Hughes. Saw her at church Friday night with Jaycees Hold Fishing Derby On May 29 the McHenry area Jaycees held their fishing derby at McCulIom Lake beach. Although the turnout was light the following con testants won some wonderful trophies; Gary McKeehan, Stewart Buck, Kim Sanford, David Wilkerson, Dawn Bijcler and Darren Wilkerson. The fish weighed from 1 oz., to 4 oz. Everyone had a good time and there possibly will be another derby held later this year. (Editor's note: Sorry, boys, your picture was too blurred). Old Bridge lost their last two games and were not expected to win against Het termann's, but they did and finally upset someone instead of being upset. After 5 innings, Hettermann's were winning 7 to 5 and it looked like they were going to win another one. Then in the top of the 7th inning, Old Bridge came to bat. Tom Les came to bat and led off with a double. The next two batters made outs and Les was on second with 2 outs. Then Irish Decicco came up and popped a single to right field and Les came home. With the score 7 to 6, Jim Althoff tied it up by getting a double scoring Irish and on an error he scored himself. Hettermann's came to bat down by one run. They had men on second and third, but could not bring them in. There were no games on Monday, May 31 because of the Memorial Day weekend. Jr. Pigtail Div.
