The church altar was decorated with vases of flowers in pastel shades. Special musical selections were offered by Bret Jackson including "Color My World" and "The Wedding Song". Miss Harper is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Harper, 105 Sunset drive, McHenry, and Mr. Holbrook is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Holbrook, 1015 Larkdale Row, Wauconda. The lovely bride wore a floor length gown of sheer organza with an empire waistline, Venice .sculptured lace scoop neckline and puffed sleeves. Her chapel length train and skirt were trimmed with Venice lace. Cristi Kempf of Wauconda attended her friend as maid of honor, with Joyce Davis of McHenry acting as flower girl. The maid of honor was attired in a baby blue polyester gown with a sheer floral print jacket. Miss Davis wore a blue dotted- Swiss pinafore over a pastel floral gown. David Herrick of Wauconda served as best man. The bride's mother chose a lime green floor length dress. Mrs. Holbrook wore a blue and white floor length dress with a matching long sleeve jacket. A cake and punch reception was held in the church hall after the ceremony for ap­ proximately fifty guests. Upon their return from a trip to Alabama and Disney World, Fl., the couple will make their home at 4508 Garden Quarter apartments, Apt. 40. The bride is a 1976 graduate of Wauconda high school and is employed at the McHenry A&W restaurant. The bridegroom graduated in 1975 from Wauconda high school and is with the Crane Packing company, Crystal Lake. Ringwood To Host Chicken Barbeque, Recollection Day The United Methodist church of Ringwood will be holding its chicken barbecue on the church lawn Sunday, July 18. Serving will be from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets may foe obtained from Jim Strom, chairman, 5404 W. Lake Shore drive; Althea Walkington, 5301 Barnard Mill road; Katy Christopher, 3403 N. Saturday, July 17, starting at 3 o'clock, there will be the church's first "Do You Remember?" day which will be a time for visiting and reminiscing. Anyone who may have mementos of days gone by are invited to bring these to share with others. Everyone is asked to pack a picnic basket for supper at 5 o'clock, at which time they will be entertained with music by the Sweet Adelines during the supper hour. At 7:30, the Checkerboard Squares will present a program of exhibition dancing and also some audience participation. One Hundred and eighty- eight members and guest* of the McHenry Senior Citizens club learned details of summer activities at the last meeting. Vice-president Ralph Lockerbie presided, with guests from Sweden and Florida. Mr. Doerr advised there were a very few reservations left on the bus-brunch-boat trip to the Abbey at Fontana, Wi., Wed­ nesday, July 21. The buses will leave the McHenry State bank parking lot at 8:45 a.m. For reservations, contact Mrs. Giel immediately. Mr. Grayson reported the bus for tlfe Chicago Loop July 14 is filled; however, reservations are being made for the trip Aug. 11. Prompt reservations are asked. Mr. Doerr said that the bus to' the Milwaukee Zoo, with lunch, is practically filled. It will leave the McHenry State bank parking lot at 7:30 a.m. Wed­ nesday, Aug. 18. Mr. Doerr has a trip planned to tour Circus World in Wisconsin Wednesday, Sept. 15. This will be a very interesting tour with details on how they load the circus trains .arid prepare for their shows. There will be a free concert and big top circus performance in­ cluding aerial stunts, plus clown acts. On the return trip a stop will be made for dinner in Madison. In October, Mr. Doerr ex­ pects to have another bus- luncheon-theater trip to Shady lane at Marengo. Mr. Sass attended with petitions for anyone who had not already signed for the $5,000 Homestead exemption to replace the $1,500 exemption now in effect. The July 12 meeting promises to have a Bicentennial aura with a talk by Jerome Rogers. It will start at 7:30 p.m. at East campus. The program for the last meeting was an organ recital by Miss Cheryl Ripley, which everyone enjoyed very much. The Executive committee will meet Thursday July 8, at 10 a.m. at Landmark school. Many Summer Events Await PWP Members Parents Without Partners, Chapter 189, will hold a Bicentennial picnic-dancelat 8 p.m. Friday, July 9, atVthe Crystal Lake American Legion hall. The menu will be picnic style and there will be a live band. Sunday, July 11, the P.W.P. will have a family bus trip to see a baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants. Prospective members are invited to attend a newcomers meeting Wednesday, July 14, in Crystal Lake. For time and place call 459-5262. Prospective members are also invited to attend general meetings on the first and third Friday every month at the Crystal Lake American Legion hall, 406 Woodstock street, corner of Oak street at 8 p.m. Friday, July 16 the Sweet Adelines, a well known quartet in the Chicagoland area, will be featured at the general meeting. Friday, Aug. 6, the general meeting program will be a 28- minute sound-color movie, "Monument to the Dream", about the construction of the 630-foot Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Mo. Some of the activities scheduled are birthday party, baseball party rally, square dancing, roller skating, outdoor volleyball and game night, Italian dinner, card night, Lake Geneva boat trip, and Aug. 15 family trip to "Great America". Present Doll History s For Christian* Women The McHenry County Christian Women's club invites all interested persons to a Bicentennial brunch July 14 from 10 to noon at Martinetti's restaurant in Crystal Lake. Shirley Shedd of Crystal Lake will present a history of dolls from their beginning until now. Special music will be provided by Phyllis Matthews of McHenry. Job' Daughters The McHenry Masonic temple was the setting for the lovely installation of officers of Bethel No. 98, McHenry, of the International Order of Job's Daughters recently when Betty Zamastil became honored queen. Beth Rosendahl presided for her last time as honored queen of the bethel as installing of­ ficer. She was assisted by Tammy Barchard, Betsy Ruth and Lisa Hull, past honored queens of Bethel 98; Cathy Bartley and Sheree Jacobs, past honored queens of Bethel- 61, Elgin; and Sally Dresdow of McHenry, the other installing officers. The girls installed into office with Miss Zamastil of McHenry, were Laura Kuhns, McHenry, senior princess; Kandi Bowen, Ingleside, junior princess; Linda Oplinger, Cary, guide; and Julie Kuhns, McHenry. Tammy King of The speaker for the day will be Helen Modjeska of Peoria, a mother of three and interior decorator and dress designer. Those planning to attend should contact Mrs. Lorraine Monahan for reservations. Cancellations are necessary. As the new honored queen, Betty Zamastil chose "Hap­ piness Is .Found In Little Things" as the theme for the installation. Her cousin, Doug Zamastil, gave the Ode to the American' Flag and she selected her grandparents, ' William Zimmerman and Mr. and Mrs. Eichmann, to be her surprise honored guests for the afternoon. The dedicated songs to the guests of honor, Betty's family, Bethel Guardian council, and the officers were sung by Sue VanKanegan. The numerous relatives, friends, and guests in at­ tendance were treated to a buffet supper reception im­ mediately following the ceremony in the downstairs of i, the Temple. Following a reception for 120 guests at Jhe Knights of Columbus hall, McHenry, the couple left on a wedding trip to Burlingshire Resort, Brown's Lake, Wi. They are making their home at 3706 W. Anne street, McHenry. Both bride and groom are high school graduates and the groom also completed four years of a tool and die training program. He is employed in that trade at this time. Miss Nellis Lovely Bride Of James Buegeler A lovely wedding was solemnized in St. Patrick's Catholic church Saturday, June 26, when Sandra J. Nellis ex­ changed nuptial vows with James A. Buegeler. The Rev. Raymond Kearney officiated at the 3 o'clock afternoon ser-, vices. Miss Nellis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Frisby and the late Donald G. Nellis. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Buegeler 6t Yoakum, Tx. Patricia Frisby, sister of the bride, McHenry, attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Cathy Nellis, sister of the bride, McHenry; Sherry Bell, sister, Coral Springs, Fl., and junior bridesmaid, Lisa Bell, godchild and niece, also of Coral Springs. A niece, Gina Bell was flower girl. Brother of the groom, David Buegeler, Austin, Tx., acted as best man. Leon Buegeler, brother of the groom, Austin, Tx.; and Craig R. Nellis, Sr., brother of the bride, McHenry, were groomsmen. Craig R. Nellis, Jr., of McHenry, god­ child of the bride, was ringbearer. Ninety guests gathered at John Evans inn, Crystal Lake, for a reception. Donna Nellis, cousin of the bride, Glenview, passed the guest book. The bridal bouquet was caught by Cathy Nellis, sister of the bride, who then announced her own engagement. Upon their return from a trip to Wisconsin, the couple will make their home in Waukegan. The bride is a 1960 graduate of McHenry high school-and is employed as a secretary.
