David graduated from Illinois State university in 1975 and is employed as an insurance agent SARNWICK PHOTOGRAPHY Sisters Serve Annual Chicken Dinner Aug. 22 The Benedictine Sisters at Benet Lake, Wi., will hold their annual chicken dinner and festival on the convent grounds Sunday, Aug. 22. Proceeds will be added to the convent building fund. Barbecued chicken will be served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., rain or shine. There will also be special booths. Wines Given In Marriage By Her Grandfather Escorted to the altar of Christ the King Catholic church of Wonder Lake, by her grand­ father, John Dyck on his bir­ thday July 24, Mary Kathleen Wines met her groom, Herbert S. Burt, and repeated the vows that united them in marriage. The 3 p.m. nuptial Mass was concelebrated by the Rev. John Cahill and Rev. Dorance Tranel. Miss Wines is the daughter of Mrs. Dolores Wines, 8812 Oak- wood drive, Wonder Lake, and the late Leo J. Wines. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Herbert S. Burt, 216 Harding, Waukegan. The bride's godfatl Richard Raffit of Mundelein, was lector and commentator at the guitar Mass sung by Bill Zingrone. Godmother of the bride, Mrs. Bob (Patricia) Bauer of Rolling Meadows, brought the offerings to the altar. Flower arrangements in shades of yellow and white decorated the altar. The dark-haired bride wore a white silk polyester-jersey gown with long sleeves and a high neckline. The fitted bodice, neckline and cuffs were accented with seed pearls and translucent gemstones. The gown featured a Juliet back with thirty self-covered but­ tons draping into a long train. She wore a mantia lace hood style veil and carried a cascade of white stephanotis, butterfly orchids, yellow sweetheart roses and baby's breath. Sister of the bride, Mrs. Lynn Gust of Crystal Lake, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Denise Luedtke and Stasia Sobotkiewicz, both Woodstock friends of the bride, Teryl Burt, the groom's sister from Champaign, Mrs. Mary Ann Wines, DeKalb, the bride's sister-in-law, and Gloria Burt, the groom's sister, ̂ Ann Arbor, Mi. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wright, Samantha, was flower girl. The attendants were attired in long, polyester, silk lemon yellow gowns, with V necklines, wide straps and matching jackets. Each wore a hand­ made, wide-brimmed hat in white trimmed with yellow ribbons and carried a bouquet of white and yellow glomelias, carnations, yellow statice and baby's breath. Best man duties were han­ dled by Bob Freund, a friend of the groom from Woodstock, Bill Wines, DeKalb and Michael Wines, Wonder Lake, brothers of the bride, David Ehardt, Bill Walkington and Rick Smith, all Woodstock friends of the groom, were groomsmen. David Bujak of Wonder Lake carried the ring pillow which was made from the bride's mother's wedding gown train. The bride's mother wore a frosted turquoise silk polyester sleeveless gown with white accessories, while Mrs. Burt chose a Summer green A-line dress with caftan sleeves. Each carried a complementary nosegay. A reception at the American Legion home for approximately 300 guests followed the ceremony. Honored guests at the gathering were Mrs. Mary Olszak, Neshkoro, Wi., great grandmother of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. John Dyck, Wonder Lake, maternal grandparents of the gride; Mrs. Mary Wines, Elmwood Park, the bride's Daternal grandmother and MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM LAMONT FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY--A wedding which was held on a day recorded to be the hottest in fifty-six years, has survived for fifty years for Mr. and Mrs. William Lamont, 9017 Memory Trail, Wonder Lake. Marquette Park Presbyterian church, Chicago, was the setting for the Aug. 28, 1926, ceremony. Those vows will be repeated at Nativity Lutheran church, Wonde^Lake, Aug. 7 at 1:30 p.m. An open house in the Fellowship h4ll of the church will follow and a welcome is extended to all friegds. Hosting will be the Lamonts' daughter and husband, Mrs. Gilbert (Lois) Martin of Winnetka, and son, William, and wife, Joan, of Boulder, Co. Also attending will be the couple's seven grandchildren, Leslie, Laurel and William Lamont and Beth, Scott, Gary and Barbara Martin. A vacation trip is planned in August by Mr. and Mrs. Lamont. Seniors Anticipate Fair Booth, Free Day "The McHenry County Senior Citizen's* council will have a double space booth this year at the McHenry County Fair", announced Marge Jones, executive director for the council. The Fair will open Aug. 4 and run through Aug. 8. The Fair board will be giving free admittance to senior citizens Thursday, Aug. 5. All seniors have to do is to have their Medicare card or McHenry County Senior Citizen's council membership card to show at the gate. The Fair association chose that date since the harness races will be held that day and they felt this would be an event seniors would enjoy. The Fair association will also1 be providing a wagon and a team of white horses to tran-)i sport seniors from the parking lot to the grandstand Thursday. The Senior Citizen's council is planning on a double booth this year. "We will be in Building 'D' along 4with the Health depart­ ment", Mrs. Jones said. "That way seniors will be able to stop and pay a visit to us, perhaps renew their membership and join us for refreshments and then go over and have a simple Mrs. Dorothy Burt, Highland Park, the groom's paternal grandmother. Friends and relatives came from Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, New Mexico and California. Upon their return from a honeymoon trip to Denver, Estes Park and Boulder, Colorado, the couple will make their home in Waukegan. The bride is a 1973 graduate of Marian Central high school, attended McHenry County college and Northern Illinois university, and holds an associate degree in Special Education. She is employed at the Woodstock high school as Special Education teacher's assistant for SEDOM The groom graduated from Woodstock high school in 1973 and attended Southern Illinois university and Lake County college. The Nairn conference is an organization for Catholic widowers and widows, and the non-Catholic spouses of deceased Catholics, with the prime purpose of providing mutual support to members in meeting the social, psychological, financial and spiritual' problems of widowhood. There will be a meeting Wednesday night, Aug. 4, at 8 p.m. at St. Mary's rectory. 390 Fulton street, Elgon (corner of Fulton and Gifford). There will be discussion and a brief in­ troductory meeting with a social hour following. Anyone eligible for mem­ bership is cordially invited to attend this meeting.
