HELPING jPAWS_j Cjjf* ml Bv Estelie Atwell Among the joys of raising a kitten - it just might turn out you'll have a musical prodigy especially if your home has a piano. PET TALK received this letter from D.E.E. in McHenry: "A little over two years ago my brother brought home a half-starved wild kitten. We kept it and our family has never regretted this. "Tigris-Euphrates (Snugs for short) is now a huge long haired gray tiger Stripe, gentle and friendly. Snugs is musical, not vocally, but performing on the piano he composes and plays music. He is the original 'kitten on the keys." Our piano has always intrigued Snugs. If we played the piano Snugs was right there watching and listening. At the age of 8 months we were treated to his first attempts at musical scales, he proudly walked up and down the keys, tail waving grandly. "Since then Snugs has graduated to playing some of his own compositions. He no longer walks up and down the keys. Now he acts like a maestro at Carnegie hall. He really approaches the piano bench, leaps up on it, settles himself comfortably, places his paws on the keys and begins to play. His music is not random pounding sounds but rather a soft gentle steady beat. At the end of his performance he leaps off the piano bench and quietly settles down in his favorite chair." Perhaps you have a pet with unusual talent and intelligence, or one who has exhibited outstanding bravery or loyalty. We'd like to hear about it and share the story with our readers.
