A On Aug. 22, Governor Walker signed legislation which immediately raised the state minimum wage from $2.10 to $2.20 for adult workers. The minimum wage will remain at $1.75 for workers under eighteen for the balance of 1976. Effective Jan. 1, 1977 the minimum wage for adults will be raised to $2.30 (the same rate as the federal minimum wage) and the rate for workers under eighteen will be raised to $1.95. Q. The company I work for is closing its office here. Needless to say, I'll be out of a job. I've wanted to move to a smaller community for quite awhile. This seems to be the right time - - I have to job hunt anyway. Will I be able to draw unem ployment benefits in the new town to help me through until I find a new job? A. Benefits will not automatically be denied you because you move. However, if you move to a locality where job opportunities in your field of work are less favorable, you may not be eligible for unemployment insurance benefits.
