McCullom Lake Mary Jo Farrell 344-1575 Legal Notice NOTICE OF JUDICIAL SALE STATE OF ILLINOIS Memorable Fall Trip To Arkansas For Local Family Jackie Raycraft travelled to Rogers, Ar., Oct. 9 to visit her parents in their new home. Jackie was accompanied by her sons, Joey and Bob, and her sister-in-law,, Sandy Ambrose, and her children Val, Linda Colleen and Jenny. They left McCullom Lake at 7:30a.m. Oct. 9, and arrived in Rogers at 9 p.m. On the way, Jackie learned to read a map while trying to entertain four - small children. When the travelers got to Arkansas, Jackie's parents were ready and waiting to show them the sights. On Sunday they visited Roaring River State park. On Monday they journeyed to Pea Ridge National Military park, the site of a Civil War battle. Jackie's folks entertained the whole gang for the entire visit, and saw them off on Thursday morning. They stopped in St. Louis on Thursday to see the Great Arch, and spent the night in Edwardsville, II., before returning home on Friday.- They reported beautiful weather during the whole trip, and hope to go down to Arkansas again soon. NEW ARRIVAL The chair carts have finally arrived! Now we have everything we need to make activities at the beach house a lot easier to set up and take down. The new tables, chairs, and carts are all very nice, and were very expensive, so let's make sure they last for awhile. Please be careful, and treat them like you would treat your own furniture. HALLOWEEN Don't forget the Beach Gals Halloween party for the kids of the village Sunday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. at the beach house. There will be lots of fun and prizes galore, so don't miss it! Also, you teen-agers, don't forget the new category for costume and jack-o-lantern judging - 12 and over. Let's see how ingenious you all are. CUB SCOUTS McCullom Lake's Cub Scout den has started its fall ac tivities, den mother Karen Sarabia reports. Pack 162, Den 1, consists of eight boys; Scott Anderson, Paul Anderson, David Sarabia, Jimmy Gravely, Johnny Walter, Tito Mercado, Joey Raycraft and Jimmy Thennes. They meet Monday afternoon from 5 until 6:30. These boys are all 8 and 9- year-olds. The 8-year-olds are called Wolves, and the 9-year- olds are Bears. On Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m., at the American Legion hall on Ringwood road, there will be a Halloween party for the entire Pack 162. There will be a costume contest, and a jack-o-lantern contest, and prizes will be awarded to the winning dens. Patches will also be awarded that night. Among these pat ches is the Bobcat patch, which a young Cub attains when he has learned the Cub pledge, the Cub handshake, and the laws of the pack. Refreshments will be served at the party. ELVIS MANIA Dawn Lancaster is a great Elvis Presley fan, and on his visit to the Midwest recently, she got to see the star several times. When he was in Chicago for two performances, Dawn and her friends managed to catch Elvis coming and going from the Arlington Hilton, where he was staying. They even met him at a stoplight in downtown Chicago, and followed his limousine on the expressway. At Thursday night's concert, Dawn had a seat in the fifth row, and Elvis threw a scarf to her. Another girl grabbed the scarf, and it got caught on an usher's neck. The poor usher almost lost his life in the en suing battle! The other woman got the scarf, but Dawn won in the long run. Elvis called her up to the stage and personally handed her another scarf. Dawn and her friends talked with members of Elvis' band and his bodyguards, and even got to talk to Elvis himself long enough to present him with a carvfed pumpkin. Friday night Dawn and her friends got flagged into the private parking lot behind Elvis' car by mistake, and almost got locked in there for good! The girls met Elvis at O'Hare on Thursday, and saw him off when he left Chicago on his private plane. That isn't the end of the story, however. On Tuesday, Dawn and company traveled to South Bendfln., where they saw Elvis again on Wednesday night. Dawn says she wishes she could follow her idol all over the country as some people do, but she won't forget her week for a long time.
