DOUBLE ANNIVERSARY - The combined wedding anniversaries of parents and son were observed recently at a dinner at the McHenry Country club. New Packaging For Bicentennial Coins The silver Bicentennial uncirculated coin sets are now available in new crimson and white gift packaging in time to celebrate the holidays and the close of the nation's 200th birth day year, Mrs. Mary Brooks, director of the Mint, has an nounced. "The Bicentennial silver uncirculated sets, featuring a scenic view of Independence Hall on the new packaging, are quality keepsakes for today - historical treasures for tomorrow," Mrs. Brooks said. "And they are the only current United States quarters, half dollars and dollars available in silver." These historically significant coins are dated 1776-1976. The United States Congress authorized the production of the special 40 percent silver coins emblematic of the Bicentennial of the American Revolution. Congress further instructed the Mint to make them readily available to as many people as possible. To help the Mint meet its legislated commitment, financial institutions in this country and around the globe are making the uncirculated Bicentennial silver coin sets easily available to their customers. Additionally, in a further departure from custom, the Bicentennial silver coin sets are available over-the-counter at Mint outlets at the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Mint at Philadelphia and Denver and at the Old Mint in San Francisco. The Mint has produced the 45 million Bicentennial silver coins ordered by Congress in both proof and uncirculated condition and packaged them in three-piece sets. Through Dec. 31, all orders for the un circulated sets will be filled and delivered in the new holiday packaging. Arthur McKay of St. Paul's Episcopal church was pleasantly surprised Sunday, Nov. 21, when his parishioners honored the thirty-fourth anniversary of his ordination. The parish members of St. Paul's Episcopal church recently honored their pastor at a surprise reception c o m m e m o r a t i n g t h e anniversary of his ordination which took place at Trinity church in Aurora thirty-four years ago. The gathering took place following the Sunday service which saw a new baby baptized into the church and twenty young people take their first Holy Communion. Highlights of the "coffee" were a cake made by Mrs. Denny Koch and an ode written by her mother, Mrs. Eve Cordrey, which reads as follows. Principle must be above expediency if our politi cal system is to endure. * * * • It's surprising how much work our friends think we can, and should do. • * * * Inquiries may be made to Bureau of the Mint, 55 Mint Street, San Francisco, California 94175 Not knowing the answer is only half as hard as ad mitting not knowing it. * • * * We often wonder whether the politicians believe one-half the things they say. * * * * Non-essentials take up too much time in life but why be different from those about you? And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
