Sunset ridge, McHenry, was ticketed for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and also for improper lane usage following an accident late last week. John G. Kainer, driver of the other vehicle, said he was facing west on Rt. 120, and stopped in traffic at Richmond road in the inside lane when he saw Anderson's vehicle come from the west into his lane of traffic and hit him. Anderson's car then pushed the Kainer vehTtrte to the back and sideways, before proceeding east on Rt. 120 at a high speed. A witness to the accident, Denise J. Tansey, 606 Orchard, McHenry, confirmed Kainer's story. A passenger in the Kainer vehicle also noted the license plate number of the Anderson car, and soon he was stopped and arrested. Upon questioning, Anderson said he hadn't been in an ac cident and received the cut on his head from a beer bottle thrown in a tavern. Kainer sustained minor in juries in the accident, and went to McHenry hospital for treatment. Elsewhere, Ronald Schaefer, 1716 Court street, McHenry, was ticketed for failure to yield right-of-way after hitting a car driven by Michael L. Pliner, 7724 Deep Spring road, Wonder Lake, at 7:35 a.m. Monday. Pliner said he was going east on Pearl street, approaching Court street, when Schaefer's car appeared in front of him and the accident occurred. McHenry police noted that at that time of day, it would be difficult for Schaefer to see Pliner coming because the sun would be shining directly in his eyes. Nevertheless, Schaefer was ticketed. No injuries occurred and approximately $150 damage was done to each car. Verma H. Parrish was taken to McHenry hospital by the McHenry Rescue squad following a two-car accident at 7:30 a.m. late last week. Ms. Parrish was stopped on Rt. 120 preparing to make a left turn when she was hit in the rear by Richard A. Garske, 2810 W. Rosedale avenue, McHenry. Garske said the car in front of him suddenly veered off into the other lane, revealing the Parrish vehicle too late for him to stop on the icy road. No tickets were issued, and Ms. Parrish was admitted and released from the hospital. Debbie M. Calkins, 5412 Highland drive, McHenry. suffered minor injuries in an accident involving a car driven by John A. Crone of Rockford The crash occurred at 8 a.m. one day late last week. Ms. Calkins said she was westbound on Rt. 120 preparing to turn left when the Crone vehicle hit her. Crone explained that another car was attempting to cut into his lane, and when he applied the brakes to avoid an accident, he slid into the other lane and hit the Calkin vehicle. No tickets were issued. Damage was estimated at $400 to Ms. Calkin's car and $150 for the Crone vehicle. Joyce A. Monke, 1216 Palomino drive, McHenry, was scheduled for medical attention following an accident with Dorthy A. Messer, 1110 N. Hillside lane, McHenry, Monday at 7 p.m Ms. Messer said she was westbound on Rt. 120 when the Monke vehicle in front of her stopped, and she slid on the ice into the rear end of the other auto. No tickets were issued. The damage was $100 to the Monke vehicle, and insignificant to the Messer auto. No one was injured and damage was minor in a two-car accident in Wonder Lake Tuesday at 4:14 p.m. Diane M. Byrd, 8717 Dorr road. Wonder Lake, was westbound on Pine road when she approached an in tersection. A large bush ob structed her vision from the north and hid a car driven by Edward A. Davis, 3308 W Meadow lane, Wonder Lake. When Ms. Byrd did see the Davis auto, it was too late and she hit it. There were no regulatory signs at that intersection and no tickets were issued. Damage was estimated at $100 to each car. Philip Simpson, 8319 Howe- road, Ringwood, struck a deer at 6:05 p.m. Monday. He said he was westbound on Rt. 173 when he observed two deer on one side of the road. He slowed and one deer crossed. Then, just as he proceeded, the other deer ran right in front of the moving vehicle. James K. Westberg, Sycamore, was ticketed for failure to report an accident that occurred at 10 p.m. Sun day, Apparently, Westberg's tire blew, he lost control of his car, and knocked down two signs. Henry A. Victor. 611 W Rand road, McHenry, was for tunately not injured when he fell asleep at the wheel of his car Monday morning and crashed into a pair of parked autos. Victor said he was headed west on Rt 120 at an unknown speed when he fell asleep and ran off the north side of Rt. 120. A witness, John Reeves, Libertyville, stated he saw Victor come across the center line and strike two cars from Holtz motors, 222 W. Rand road. McHenry. No ticket was issued. An estimated $500 damage was done to the Victor car, and approximately $150 and $300 to each of the parked cars. A chain reaction accident on Rt. 120 Wednesday afternoon resulted in a local man being ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident Daniel Peters, 5213 Victor drive, McHenry, received the ticket after hitting the rear of a car driven by Roch Kennebeck, 1121 W. River road. McHenry, and forcing the Kennebeck vehicle into a car driven by Jacqueline Carbone, 2507 S. Lilac. McHenry. Ms. Carbone stated she was in the left eastbound lane of Rt. 120, and had stopped waiting for traffic to clear before completing her turn. Ken nebeck, traveling behind her, also came to a complete stop Then Peters, traveling in the other eastbound lane, shifted into the inside lane and realized too late that the two cars in front of him had stopped. He hit the Kennebeck car. which in turn was forced into the Car bone vehicle. Kennebeck complained of some discomfort as a result of the accident, but no major injuries were reported. Damages was estimated at about $100 for each vehicle Set *1,000 Bond In Family Dispute ° At 6:20 Friday morning, sheriff's police investigated a report of a family dispute at the home of Eugene Crago, 5403 W. West Shore drive, McHenry. Crago had apparently struck his wife, Irene, before departing the premises. He was soon located and arrested for battery. Chervin, Ltd., attorney Investigate First Reported Theft From Holiday Display MORE DOCTORS Gov. Walker recently dedicated the $8.9 million Peoria school of Medicine in downtown Peoria, the second new state medical school facility opened this year. The school will graduate 75 new physicians annually after it reaches its projected enrollment of 225 students. Since 1973, the state has ap propriated more than $60 million on construction and renovation projects at state medical school facilities. Another $60 million has been appropriated for construction of the new University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago. At 7:15 p.m. Thursday, police answered the report of a theft of five strands of Christmas lights from two trees in front of the home of Richard Zalke, 3802 St. John's road, McHenry. It is suspected that two unidentified youths seen in the yard earlier may have been the offenders. At 4:45 a.m. Sunday, a theft was reported to the sheriff's office by David Nank, 1406 Lincoln road, McHenry. Nank told police that sometime after 11:30 Saturday night, someone stole a snowmobile trailer and two snowmobiles from his property. One of the snowmobiles had not been on the trailer, but had apparently been loaded onto it by the offender. There were no license plates on the trailer when taken. Police are continuing their investigation. At 7 a.m. Thursday, Joseph Doyle, 513 Mineral Springs road, McHenry, reported that when he returned from work in the morning, he discovered someone had stolen a red motorcycle from his unlocked garage The motorcycle had red 1976 Illinois plates 16644. On Sunday, Delores Christianson, 9011 Pine, Wonder Lake, reported that during the night someone had stolen a battery charger which was left on her vehicle charging the battery. Ms. Christianson neither saw nor heard the offender, and a police investigation into the incident is continuing. At 12:30 p.m Saturday, Daniel Liss, 2612 Shorewood drive, McHenry, reported that sometime during the previous two days, someone stole the bucket seats from an auto he was working on at his home. James Cychner, 7717 Oak- wood, Wonder Lake, reported to the police that at 10:15 p m. Friday, someone threw eggs at his front door. Cychner said that while sitting in the living room of his home, something was heard to strike the door. Looking out. he observed three youths running down Oakwood drive. Inspection revealed several eggs had struck the door and froze immediately when they brok*» Apparently entrance had not been made to the auto, and a blunt instrument was used to break the window The search for the three is continuing.
