And in talking to several parents they were honored and pleased that he came and talked to their children. In my talking to his accompanying elf. I learned they were strangely received at some homes They were greeted with happiness, rudeness and they even had a door slammed when the resident refused to talk to Santa All in all I think most parents and children hope that Santa will return next year and visit again " < M AIL BOX THEFT Just before Christmas I received a phone call froiri; a resident in Lakemoor* saying that she had put some mail in her mailbox for pickup along with some money for stamps; before the mailman got there someone had taken the money and had mutilated the other mail that was to be picked up I ~ hope all parents who read this column inform your children ' that it is a federal offense to tamper with anyone elses mailbox , SINGING THE BLUES For a boy that is-Fred and Debbie Thornton became the parents of a son. ASSOCIATION NEWS The last fund raising project was fairly successful con sidering how few residents took part in it In my Nov. 23 column I stated that the Association would have a project under way and not one person was in terested enough to call any of the officers or me to find out what it was all about and if they could and would take part in it. The only reactions following the project was "How come so and so wasn't notified"?" or "How come you didn't call this one or that one?" This was just another in cident that showed the Association how little people care what is happening or going on in their community Not one person was curious enough to inquire what it was all about.
