V EPIPHANY SUNDAY - Children of the parish of St, Paul's Episcopal church participated in the Mass Sunday, Jan. 9 by bringing replicas of the three kings and their gilts to the altar along with the offertory gifts of bread and wine. Marsha Crump, left, carried a gold piece and LouAnn Dreier brought a container of myrrh. The Rev. Arthur McKay, center, officiated at the ceremony. LOUISA'S LETTER Dear Louisa, » My girl friend and I are having a problem about boys. We like these guys because they are very good friends and act like each other. They watch us all the time in class even when we are not doing anything. This girl who has a big bust goes after both of them and they fall for it. But like I say they stare at us in class and talk to us some. They especially hang with us at free library time but when that other girl shows up there they go. We asked this girl if she liked one of these boys or both and she says they bug me to death. It seems to me that she bugs them. Thank you. Two Concerned Friends Answer: ^ There are always girls who attract the other sex more than other girls do. But if the only asset your competitor has is a more developed body, don't give up hope. Personality, kind ness, good grooming and many other things are long* er lasting assetsthan a big bosom. \ ~ Try not to be jealous and say mean things about this girl. There is an old saying that "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" scx^f this girl is a nice girl try being friends with her. You may end up being a winner. Good luck. Louisa. PAGF 5 - PLAINDEALER-FRIDAY JANUARY 14, 197? cutting laundry day down to size You say you live on the fourth floor of a walk-up apartment building and have to do your laundry in the basement at 4:30 rf.m. because that's the only time the building's washers and dryers aren't being used by someone else? You say that you live in a mobile home and had to drive four miles over icy roads last winter to the coin-op laundry and that when you got there the dollar changer was broken and you only had three pennjps and a nickel? You say that your children have grown and you've moved to a smaller house where the only space for your full-sized washer and dryer is in the living room? Is that what's troubling you? Well, buck up. Compact laundry units for people with sparse space can cut your problems down to size. To reduce the laundry day blues of growing .numbers of apart ment, momle home and small house dwellers, Whirlpool Corporation has developed the Thin Twins -- matching elec tric washers and dryers which fit into tight spots in cramped quarters and most of which can be plugged into any adequately wired household outlet. Only 24 inches wide, 20% inches deep and about 32% inches high, these space aces can fit into empty spots you hardly real ized you had. For real space economy the dryer can be hung on a wall or stacked on an optional rack above the washer so that you can store two in the space of one. The convertible model of the washer can-roll to and from the sink, or can be permanently installed. Although small in size, these units can have big machine fea tures. The convertible model of the Thin Twin washers, for instance, offers a choice of five automatic wash cycles. It also includes four water level set tings, two wash and spin speeds and three wash/rinse water temperatures (five when per manently installed). Two Thin Twin dryers feature large 3.4 cu. ft. drums, three drying cycles -- including per manent press -- and have easy- to-clean lint screens as well as push-to-start buttons. An op tional window vent kit, avail- Is your laundry space limited? Go-anywhere Whirlpool Thin Twin washers and dryers are only 24" wide and stackable. ° able for both models, allows easy venting through a double- hung window. Next time laundry day rolls around, don't curse the number of steps to your apartment build ing's laundry room or the rain or the snow or the fact that the car won't start. Roll in the Whirlpool Thin Twins. They can solve laundry problems, and then you'll hardly know they're around - until the next wash day. DELUXE -- Includes New Fitt ings.
