Weber. Mr Weber retired Dec. 31 from active duty at the bank He started his banking career in August of 1922 at the Fox River Valley State bank This bank was located on Green st reeky the present location of the McHenry Personal Loan Company. Mr Weber was honored by the McHenry State bank stockholders for his more than fifty years of service to the present bank Dr William A. Nve presided over the stockholders' meeting that elected the following directors: Esther M. Carey, William A Nye. M D , Robert L Weber. Thomas F. Bolger. Elmer P Adams. John L. Cowlin. William J. Cowlin, Lenora E Frisby. Ormel J. Prust and Francis M. Schmitt. Thomas F Bolger. president of the bank, reported a 17 percent increase in deposits over the previous year. Total resources of the local bank at vear's end were in excess of $93,000,000 and ev&n though there have been mergers of some of the county's savings and loan associations, the McHenry State bank still ranks as McHenry county's largest financial institution. Bolger also stated that the bank had had a very profitable year and that even though bond rates were down, mortgage and consumer loan rates were still near 1975 levels. The bank president called on Vice-Presidents Richard A Lane and Ronald J. Vacula for reports on the installment loan department and the savings department respectively. Lane reported installment loans had increased more than 20 percent in the last year and that delinquencies had decreased He reported that the automobile industry which was depressed a couple of years ago. is now very healthy and the demand for automobile loans is very strong Vacula told of a more than $8,000,000 increase in savings deposits. He pointed out that the savings passbook is still the most popular account. He said that the bank paid out over three and one-half million in savings interest during the year and that this amounted to $6 68 per minute every - minute of the year Executive Vice-President O.J Prust reviewed the year in detail to the stockholders. He pointed out that all areas of the bank had enjoyed satisfactory growth and that the bank had enjoyed another profitable year as a result of the increase in­ come and the ability to control expenses Prust said that real estate home mortgages are the largest producer of income and that at the end of the year, almost $40,000,000 was invested in real estate mortgages The executive vice-president said the bank is staffed by nineteen full time officers and fifty- seven full time employees. He also mentioned that the bank fakes advantage of part time employees to insure adequate service at all times, Vice President and Cashier Edwin J Becker reviewed the bank's investment account He pointed out that the bank has approximately $30,000,000 invested in U.S. government and municipal securities. The cashier told the stockholders that he is assisted with the iqvestment portfolio by a very active committee consisting of bank directors and officers. Vice-President and Trust Officer Robert B. Schneider told of the growth of the trust department. Schneider and Vice-President and Trust Of­ ficer Lenora E Frisby have combined to make their department the outstanding trust department in the area if the growth of the department is a criteria. Following the stockholders' meeting, the board of directors organized the bank for the coming year. Dr. William A. >• Nye was elected to his seventh term as chairman of the board. Esther Carey was named vice- chairman of the board and Robert L. Weber was appointed secretary The directors then elected and appointed the following officers for the coming year: Thomas F. Install New Officers Of Contractors Officers of the Plumbing and H e a t i n g C o n t r a c t o r s association of Lake and McHenry counties, reelected at the Dec. 9 meeting of the organization, will be formally installed at the annual in­ stallation dinner Saturday,' Jan. 22, at the Holiday Inn, Mundelein. Being installed for their second terms are president, Marshall C. Strenger, of H.T. Strenger, Inc., Lake Forest; vice-presidents Vernon Jensen, of Jensen's Plumbing & Heating. Woodstock, and James L McDonough, of McDonough's Plumbing and Heating, Waukegan; treasurer William Dixon, of Ravinia Plumbing and Heating, NEW BUSINESS - A new McHenry business is Bob's Auto Body, located at 1701 West Route 120, just a few miles east of McHenry on Route 120. Bob's Auto Body is owned by Bob O'Neill, manager for Overton Cadillac-Pontiac Co. in McHenry. The business is managed by Al Schmarje, a resident of Twin Lakes, Wi., who has had over twenty-seven years in body refinishing experience. Although Bob's Auto Body is new in this area, the employees have almost 100 years of total body experience between them. An addition is anticipated next summer. Ron Klapperich, president of the McHenry Area Jaycees, inducts Warren Hamilton, Bill Goodwin and John Linamen into the local chapter. - • Jaycees Observe 1915 Founding In St. Louis, Mo, This week celebrates the founding of the Jaycees in 1915.
