Massarik, M.D. has been named chief physician of the Standard Oil company (Indiana) general office medical department. A specialist in internal medicine, Dr. Massarik joined Standard Nov. 1, 1976, following ten years in private practice in McHenry. As chief physician, he is primarily responsible for the health needs of Standard's Chicago-area employees in cluding the nearly 5,000 em ployees of Standard and its subsidiaries who work in the Standard .Oil building, 200 E. Randolph drive. Dr. Massarik heads the program which, among other preventive medical programs, provides voluntary periodic physical examinations for all employees in the general office. Included are clinical tests and the availability of company physicians to counsel em ployees on both pertdnal and family medical problems. Dr. Massarik is also in charge of Standard's cardio- pulmonary-resuscitation v unit, made up of a mobile life- support system and a three- person medical team which can provide emergency aid within two and one-half minutes to any of the 9,000 employees and tenants in the 80-story Standard Oil building. Di. Ma^arik, of 811 Sine!;: Tree Rd , Deerfield, II., received his B.S. degree in biology from . Rutgers university in 1953 and was graduated from New York University Medical school in 1957. He served his internship and residency in internal medicine at Brooke Army hospital, Fort Sam Houston, Tx. He was subsequently assigned to the U.S. Army hospital, Augsburg, Germany; Walter Reed Army hospital, Washington, D C., and the U.S. Army hospital, Columbia, S C., before resigning his com mission to enter private practice in McHenry. He is a member of the American Medical association, the Illinois State Medical society, and the McHenry County Medical society. ASK ICC REHEARING General Telephone has filed a petition with the Illinois Commerce commission requesting a rehearing con cerning the ICC's order of Dec. 20, 1976, granting the company only 40 percent of the $11.4 million rate increase it filed for in Janaury, 1976. Thecompany feels it is entitled to a larger increase based on the original filing and is petitioning for a rehearing on issues it wishes to review with the commission. MODINE DIVIDEND- The board of directors of Modine Manufacturing Co., has declared a quarterly dividend of 60 cents per share on the outstanding capital stock, payable March 12, 1977, to all shareholders of record March 1, 1977. This represents a 10 cent raise in the quarterly rate, and is the third increase during the company's fiscal year which ends in March, 1977. Dr. Goyal Joins Staff Of Hospital DR. V.K. He earned his medical degree from the Government Medical college in Patiala, India, and served his internship at St. Elizabeth's hospital, Chicago. Three Proposals Authorized At Board Meeting A request from those who spend their time plowing the roads and clearing the snow and ice: please make sure the roadway in front of your house is free from any blockage such as garbage cans or cars. President Roger Saunders presided over the meeting. Trustees present were Chuck Dubsky, Mim DeWitt, Pat Hughes, Marty Lewandoski, Bud Roth and John Van Dyne. The board authorized three proposals: 1) that the village become an active member of LAMCOG; 2) that the village purchase a bulk mailing permit and 3) that the monies are appropriated for the printing, development and distribution of ordinances and election information. No committee repprt was taken so that two major issues before the board could be discussed. PARTY A triple treat for three an niversary couples was hosted at the home of Leroy and Cathy Beltz. The two other couples who were also honored at the gala event along with the Beltzes were Tim and Lorene Farr and Roger and Linda Theitje.
