Lester and Mary were driven over to the home of their daughter and son-in-law. Mr and Mrs James Iddings of Fox River Valley gardens. Les never suspected a thing On arrival and almost at the top of the stairs he finally spotted the banner proclaiming his seventy-fifth birthday. Once inside the door he was greeted by his daughter. Ellyn. and grandchildren. Todd. Mary Lynn, and Jimmy, and relatives from Garden Prairie. Rolling Meadows. Cary. Fox River Valley Gardens. Libertyville. Arlington Park and Lake Zurich Ellyn prepared a beautiful buffet dinner for her father and guests, and of course there was the delicious birthday cake and everyone sang happy birthday to Les. Lester Dobbin's seventy-fifth birthday was Tuesday, Feb. 8 and Mary had cake and coffee for Les and their neighbors. Those who came to help Les celebrate were Clarence and Wilma Atkinson. Mrs. Marion Duffy. Mrs. Gene Conrad. Tom and Elka Krack and their daughters Natalie and Rochelle. Happy seventy-fifth birthday to Lester' CONSERVATION CLUB NEWS The McCullom Lake Con servation club held its third annual Ice Fish derby and it was a success! Everyone was having a good time either fishing, watching the demonstrations or giving the demonstrations Jerry Kara was there with his beautiful display of fur. feather and fin taxidermy and he brought a good friend. Mr. Bunny Rabbit*. to keep him company. Wayne Quilico came with his Pack and Paddle to display his canoes and kayaks that he brought up from Libertyville Tim Lively was wishing for warmer weather so he could show the crowd what his radio controlled helicopter was capable of doing. Brook Elliott did a wonderful job demonstrating the art of making your own flvs. Elmer Thorpe was making beautiful matched sets of arrows and they were gorgeous! The McCullom Lake Beach Gal's cooking filled the hall with delicious aromas from the kitchen. Jerry Raycraft and Harriett Hammer were up to their elbows in \ork with the fishing derby. Catfish seemed to be the big catches of the weekend and there were quite a few of them. A couple of the large prize winners were from our sub divisions. The complete list of prize winners were, first, stereo equipment. Dave Freund; second. trolling motor. Beatrice Bums; third, camera and case. Evelyn Wardell and fourth. Mr. Smoker, James Taylor. The Conservation club was very happy over the good turnout and cooperation of Mother Nature and hope everyone enjoyed the derby. . BLUE BUNDLE Trucks and trains will decorate the home of Steve and Nancy Busseof Lakeland Park. Their son Scott Lee was born Feb 7 in Northwest Com munity hospital in Arlington Heights and weighed 6 lbs., 10 oz.. and was 20 inches long. Mr and Mrs. Rocco Mainiero of Arlington Heights are the proud maternal grandparents. Proud paternal grandparents are Mr and Mrs. Marvin Busse of Elk Grove village. Jean's parents. Ron and Pat. were happy so many of the family was able to attend the religious ceremony as well as the party they held to honor the baby's special day. Christie and Michael were delighted to share the fun with their new baby sister Guests included godmother. Lexine Cramm. and her husband. President Neil Wright presided while Kris Price gave the secretary report and the treasurer's report was given by Tammy Schiller. The Share the Fun committee met recently and discussed the possibility of a tour of the Sara Lee plant. Project leaders will be starting their meetings soon. For family-fun-night, we'd like to invite another club to join us on that evening. Our committee for this will be picked at our next meeting.
