I am the messenger of death and the giver of life, at my will you will prosper and then there is strife. I am a writer of books and the singer of songs, I am a giver of hopes and a righter of wrongs. I created mind and matter and helped to make man free, I control all the elements man, animal, earth and sea. I am a devil or a god it depends on one's point of view, I will change the course of history1 for I am he, she, it or you. I TAX FACTS I The average federal tax refund check is up $47 based on 694,539 returns filed by Chicago area residents as of Feb. 11. This year's average refund is now $532. IRS Director for Northern Illinois Charles F. Miriani noted that taxpayers should receive their refund checks within four to six weeks after filing their return providing that they haven't made errors which cause delays in processing. "We are finding that some taxpayers are not properly computing the standard deduction on 1040A forms, which causes a delay of up to two weeks in their refund check," Miriani said, "As always, we'd like to have everyone take that extra couple of minutes and review their return for completeness and accuracy before mailing. That assures a quicker refund check." The McHenry Plaindealer Established 1875 Phone 385-0170 McHenry.
