Wendy Cun ningham went to the home of Marie Wyman to pick her up to go bowling and instead was a very surprised young lady to find that a bridal shower was being held in her honor at Marie's home. There were about twenty-five guests present sharing in the fun and excitement as the soon- to-be bride opened her many beautiful gifts. LIBRARY NEWS Susan Brindise of 517 W. SCREENING RESULTS Even though the weather was more favorable than January, less people came out for this month's blood screening program than in January. Mr. Jaeger was a former resident of Lakemoor and Fern Chambers lived at 117 Sunset. Elsie Metz lived in Lilymoor with her brother, William Koehler, at 312 Cresthill until Feb. 19 when she passed away. Thirty fire fighters from eight McHenry county fire departments received cer tificates recently, after taking the Certified Fire Fighters examination at McHenry Countv college The Certified Fire Fighters examination is a written and practical examination covering twenty-three subject and skill areas related to the com petencies necessary to ef fective and safe fire fighting. Eighty-nine firemen took the written test. Forty-three were then eligible to take the practical or performance test. All thirty men who participated in the performance exam passed. , The men who received certificates and their depart ments included Jerome M. Gritzuk, Spring Grove; Ron Bergsman and Richard Jacobson, Richmond township; Wayne R Amore, Bryan W. Klontz, and Ronald M. Schaefer. McHenry company I; and William L. Rose. McHenry company III. Efforts are under way in Illinois to make training courses mandatory for all fire protection personnel in the future. The departments in McHenry county are moving toward such requirements on their own at this time. McHenry County college is setting up a training program in cooperation with the county departments which will begin this spring. The exam will be given in the future as a final exam for the course. The girls will participate in the 1-H Share the fun program this year and have decided to sell balloons. Some members will be appointed for public speaking.
