Every day we see the Cross; but only on Good Friday do we remember it was once an instrument of execution. This tremendous reversal in the meaning and implication of a device of torture and destruction bears simple witness to the profound effect the Resurrection of Christ has had on human culture. Yet the thrust of the dramatic events that led to that first Easter is aimed not at culture but at YOU and ME. Christians believe Jesus died and rose again for US. Celebrate Easter with all who share this joyous belief. The Lord made the Cross a symbol of His life -- an inspiration for ours. Copyright 1977 Ketster Advertising Service Strastourg. Still Time T_ /~_ i IV/ WllVbl Tax Errors Discover an error on the Illinois tax return after it had been mailed in? Illinois Revenue department officials advise that one can correct the return without penalty by filing an amended return Form IL 1040 X before the tax deadline on April 15. "Each year some taxpayers find they need to make a change on their tax return after it has been mailed," according to Gary V. Ey, income tax operations manager. "For example, someone may forget to include wages not subject to withholding or maybe a person has included the wrong dividend or interest amount on the return." Taxpayers who want to correct errors on a tax return already filed can obtain Form 1L 1040X at any Illinois Depart ment of Revenue office in the state. Forms can also be ob tained by calling toll free 800- 252-8972. Taxpayers can avoid errors by: - Checking to see that their social security number has been entered correctly. - Double checking arithmetic - Making sure they have taken advantage of all the exemptions to which they are entitled. ' - Signing the tax return and having the spouse sign if it's a joint return.
