Focus Orjj New School Pilot Reading Program The first grade class of Mrs. Helen Creamer held an open house for parents Thursday, May 5, at 7 p.m., called "A Night at School". Focus was on the new Open Court Foundation Reading program Edgebrook school has been piloting this year. The children read for their parents, did spelling dictation on the chalkboard and presented their mothers with Mother's day gifts of stitchery they had made, plus a promise of small chores for them. Remarks by parents who filled the room to overflowing proved the reading program has been very successful. * * * • There are any number of books that you don't have to read to be well- informed.
