Former McHenry resident, William Klapperich, Sr., of Johannesburg, South Africa, died at the age of 86, Monday, May 30, in South Africa. Mr. Klapperich was born Aug. 30,1890, in Johnsburg, the son of Henry and Mary (Freund) Klapperich. He and his wife, the former Helena Lay, moved to McHenry in 1922 where he was employed as a carpenter. His wife died in December of 1954 and on Nov. 21, 1959, he married Nada Costa of Mc- Cullom Lake. The move to South Africa was made in 1969 where the brother of Nada Klapperich lived. Survivors include his wife, Nada; five sons, William, Lawrence and Martin, all of McHenry, John of McCullom Lake and Delphin of Cham paign; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Anna Marie) Scar- brough of McHenry and Mrs. George (Kathleen) Mix, Miami, Fla.; twenty-six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a brother, Joe of Johnsburg and twin sisters, Mrs. Clara Miller and "Mrs. Rose Weber, both of Johnsburg. EUGENE(GENE)LEZON Thirty-two year old Eugene (Gene) Lezon died Tuesday, May 31, at St. Joseph's hospital, Chicago, after an extended illness. He had made his home at 5409 Christine street, Pistakee Highlands. Mr. Lezon was born Aug. 22, 1944, in Chicago, the son of Gene and Helen Lezon. He had been employed as a production coordinator for the Honeywell Co. of Arlington Heights. He was an area resident for the past ten years and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg. Survivors include his widow, Barbara (Schuh); a son, Eugene, 6; a daughter, Kim- berly Ann, 10; his parents of Fox Lake; two sisters, Mrs. John (Diane) Keizer of Woodridge and Cathy Schuh of Antioch; and other relatives. The K.K. Hamsher funeral home, Fox Lake, scheduled visiting hours from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday. A Mass will be offered Saturday morning at 11 at St. John the Baptist church, Johnsburg, with burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate Masses of fered in the name of the deceased. ROBERT UHLMAN Robert Uhlman, 65, of 1106 N. Somerset Mall, Whispering Oaks, died unexpectedly at McHenry hospital early Tuesday morning, May 31. Mr. Uhlman was born Dec. 17, 1911, in Chicago, the son of Leopold and Marie (Sandberg) Uhlman. Prior to recent retirement, he was in charge of maintenance at Sun Electric, Crystal Lake. He was a World War II Army veteran, ranking as a sergeant in the Fourth Armored division. He married Ruth (Felske) on May 17, 1936, in Chicago, who survives. He also leaves a son, Robert R. of - Schaumberg; two grandchildren, Gary and Nancy. There was no visitation and services and burial were private. ASCS Registers Beef P r o d u c e r s J u n e 6 - 1 7 "The McHenry County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) office will register beef producers June 6-17 to vote on the beef research and in formation order," Lucas said. "Beef producers who fail to register cannot vote in the July referendum." If over half of registered producers vote in the referen dum and two-thirds of those voting approve the order, the Secretary of Agriculture will appoint a beef board, composed of not more than sixty-eight beef producers, from names submitted by producer organizations. The board would collect assessments on sales of cattle and use the funds for beef research and information programs. Registration may be in person or by mail. Those who wish to register by mail may request the ASCS county office to mail registration cards. Recover Stolen Car In Spring Grove Area A car, reported stolen in Elkhorn, Wis., was recovered in Spring Grove last week by McHenry county police. According to the police report, an abandoned auto was parked along Wilmot road, and had been left there for several days. Upon investigating, police learned that the car had been reported stolen to the Elkhorn Police department. A 4-H or FFA member may register, provided he or she produced beef independent of the family operation. From June 6 through 17, the ASCS county office will daily post a list of producers registered to vote in a con spicuous place. A final list will be posted June 22.
