GOOD WORD from them & Many times Jesus reminded the disciples that the final destination was death on the cross at Calvary. It was a difficult pill for them to swallow. They had witnessed miracles performed with a simple wave of the hand or a few spoken words. If Jesus could heal the sick and make whole the lame and the infirmed, would it not be easy to stay the hand of the executioner? It gets down to a matter of faith. Jesus knew that death was essential to rebirth. He prepared the disciples for this even tuality. . . We must wonder how the disciples would, have reacted if Jesus had first said to them, "Come and follow Me. We shall travel throughout the countryside to Jerusalem, where I shall be crucified." This would have brought a stern teet of faith and courage. Attend the Church of your choice this Sunday.
