AUGUST 24. 1«77 Wonder Lake' M*rv Jean Huff 728-0267 >'<Girl Scout Registration Slated^Sept. 8 Registration for all Wonder Lake Girl Scouts has been set for Thursday, Sept. 8, at Nativity Lutheran church from 7:30 to 9 p.m. There will also be an uniform exchange from Brownies through leaders and anyone needing a change is asked to bring their uniform with them the night of .registration. Girl Scouting is available to girls from first grade Brownies through high school Senior Scouts. Leaders and helpers are needed for Brownie, Junior and Cadette troops. Any woman who likes to work with girls and who has any kind of talent, be it cooking, craft skills, camping, sewing, etc., please call neigh­ borhood chairman, Mrs. R.H. (Judy) Grauman or Mrs. „^Charles (Lucy) Coleman and * volunteer your much needed help On Aug. 25, Mrs. Grauman be going to council to pick up the new "Worlds to Ex­ plore" handbooks for the Scout leaders. This exciting new concept in scouting for Brownies and Juniors will be used for the first time by Wonder Lake Scouts this fall. CONVALESCENT We're happy to hear that Marie Robinson is back home I again and recuperating very I well from her broken hip. Marie, who is president of the | Wonder Lake Young at Hearts i and one .of our most active i citizens, was showered with cards from all over, plants and | flowers and many remem- 1 brances from her many friends ! during her illness. This spunky lady is not only grateful to all ; the people who remembered | her after her fall and operation, ' but also that, come October, she will be out of her walker | and back accepting the challenges of her busy life. BIRTH Mr. and Mrs. John Quick announce the birth of their first child, a son, Aug. 15. Ryan Thomas weighed 9 lbs., 12 oz., at birth. Hie baby's father is well known in Wonder Lake as a science teacher at Harrison school. WEEKEND NOVENA Four ladies from Wonder Lake drove down to Belleville, 111., for a weekend at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows where they participated in a Novena. They returned with much enthusiasm and are planning a return trip at a later date. Friends who shared this ex­ perience were Catherine Omerzo, Marion Draffkorn, Vi Rochowicz and Louise Ar- mamentos.
