Nelsen of McHenry; the rear commodore is Donald A. Rogers of West Dundee; secretary, Dr. Paul Persiani of Naperville and treasurer, Jay L. Bloomquist of Barrington. The new officers will take office the first of January, opening the Yacht club's eightieth year. s; CHARLES"CHUCK' PETERSON *MT ̂tfK), - r QOTBAU | _L. „„.i. Lisa Olsen „ (f.hockev) Hutchinson ii. nocaey) < football)_ This week gives us our first look at a member of the McHenry field hockey team, and also includes another member of the outstanding golf team and a very 'special' member of the football team. Mike Becker Mike is one of two Beckers on the McHenry varsity golf team this year, the other being his brother Pat, who is a junior. Mike is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Becker, and said that he has been playing golf for ten years, having gotten interested in the game because his father was an avid golfer. Besides playing golf, he also enjoys waterskiing, hockey, and states that he "likes all kinds of sports." Following graduation, he plans on attending college and studying architecture. Mike has been taking courses involving architecture in high school. Like the other members of the golf team, Mike believes the team can go a long way this season. Lisa Olsen "I like to meet people, and I like to travel." With those two things in mind, it is fitting that Lisa Olsen wants to become an airline stewardess when she graduates from high school next spring. That, of course, is still several months away, and in the meantime, she is a member of the varsity field hockey team at McHenry high school. This is Lisa's fourth year on the field hockey team, a sport she became interested in because an older sister played the game. Hie daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olsen, she also enjoys bike-riding, canoeing and snowskiing, although of the latter she says, "I'm not too good, but I like it." Lisa plays right halfback on the team, and explains that the game is not like ice hockey. She says there is a lot more control in field hockey, although actual plays aren't set up. Jerry Hutchinson The fates did not smile upon Jerry Hutchinson this year. Slated to see considerable action for the McHenry football team, he suffered a knee injury in a freak accident during preseason practice, and is out for the season. The injury, while it is keeping Jerry out of the games, isn't keeping him off the team bench. He helped with statistics during Saturday's game against Libertyville, and also took pictures. Hie son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hutchinson, Jerry is somewhat of an amateur photographer, having inherited the darkroom from an older brother. He has been involved with scouting since he was eight- years-old, and presently is an Eagle scout in troop 162 out of McHenry. Jerry said that the worst thing about his knee injury was that he couldn't play. When he graduates from high school, he plans on attending college, possibly at the University of Illinois, and studying electronics. X: ?!
