On the contrary, the Galler family totals over fifty years in the furniture business, and' the McHenry location is the third store to open. There are also stores in Chicago and Crystal Lake. Since it opened Its doors on Feb. 2 of this year, McHENRY HOME FURNISHINGS has already established itself in the community. Every item on display in the store is all wood. There is no simulated wood and nothing plastic. The Gallers offer many fine lines of furnishings, including American Drew, Broyhill, Crestwood, and Carson. Everything in fine furnishings for the home is available, including pictures, mirrors, dining sets, living room sets, and bedroom outfits. The store also takes pride in backing up what it sells, believing that taking care of the customer after he walks out with an item is just as important as the selling of the item. Want that very special pet for yourself or a loved one? You need look no far ther than PINE TREE PET SHOP, located at the corner of Rt. 120 and Chapel Hill road, east of McHenry. Here, employee Donna Larke holds a fully grown chinchilla, which make very nice pets. Chinchillas, of course, are also grown for the purpose of using their fur in making coats. Grace llenschel owns and operates the PINE TREE PET SHOP, which is open every day but Wednesday. Besides chin chillas. also available are hamsters, gerbels. birds, fish...just about every kind of small pet. excfpt dogs, that one tan think of. PINE TREE PET SHOP also has over eighty tanks of tropical fish on display, and recently made available a nice batch of cockatiels. which are birds that can be trained to talk. Other types of birds available include finches and parakeets. There is much more to the store, however, than animals. The store also carries all animal supplies, including supplies for dogs and cats. The personnel at PINE TREE PET SHOP like to call them selves "The Pet People". It is a name which, over the years, they have cer tainly earned. Comfort and good looks are two of the prime requisites when shopping for sportwear. SPURGEON'S DEPARTMENT STORE is now featuring nationally known, coordinated sportswear for the autumn and winter seasons...clothing which is comfortable to wear, and looks attractive. The two women above are modeling sportswear by Russ Togs and Catalina, but the store carries many other nationally known brands of sportswear as well. The model on the left is wearing the ever popular gaucho pants, a cowl-neck sweater, a checked blazer, knee boots, and is carrying a matching purse. The other model is wearing a print top, solid-color slacks and blazer, and matching shoes and hat. The emphasis this season is on "coordinated" sportswear, and each of these items can be bought separately, with the individual mixing and matching to suit individual tastes. SPURGEON'S DEPARTMENT STORE, located in the McHenry Market Place Shopping center, is a complete department store, carrying clothing for all ages. Letty Busscher, owner and operator of the store, believes in personalized service, and her store carries an exclusive line of lamps and lamp shades as well as a variety of imported gifts. Letty's specialized service insures that the lamp shade is proper for the lamp. Homemakers often take extravagant steps to insure that the living room rug matches the wallpaper and the furniture. But this same person does not realize the importance of matching lamps and lamp shades. There are, of course, many different types of lamps, and LETTY'S LAMPS AND SHADES, 3318 W.. Elm street, McHenry, carries table lamps, swags, pole lamps, floor lamps, piano lamps, wall lamps, etc. It is truly the ONE STOP to make when a new lamp or lamp shade is required. We're here to serve you in McHenry." If Ken sounds pleased, it's because he is. He has also found, in his three years in McHenry, that the personnel working with him are happy to be here. Except for expansion, nearly everyone working at TORKELSON LINCOLN MERCURY today was with the group when they first opened their doors in 1975. Ken explained that the store operates on customer satisfaction. Besides new and used cars, there is also a complete service facility, excluding a body shop. The service department is open five and one-half days a week, and the showroom is open daily.
