A time for fa'mily together ness, a time for old friends, old sights, aromas, emo tions and traditions.. The real sense of Christ mas (past and present) of ten is centered around the kitchen table where a friendly cup of tea and a wedge of homemade cake symbolize the warmth of this special season. For your holiday tea break, treat yourself to an exhila rating taste dear to Ameri can hearts -- the popular Constant Comment tea from R. C. Bigelow, a unique blend flavored with orange and sweet spices. Or sip a tea bound to stir up a fond new tradition -- Cinnamon Stick, Lemon Lift or Rose Carden -- all inspired by old-fashioned recipes. To serve with these fine teas, hark back to a rich- in-heritage cake, spicy and chock-full of plump raisins and a dash of spirits. This not-too-sweet fruitcake makes a wonderful after- *W,c companiment to the subtle taste of tea. ; Too, Christmas can be ex- " panded into many months of enjoyment by giving gifts of tea. Select from Bigelow's collections in at tractive packages. They are perfect for discriminating tea drinkers. Somehow an aromatic cup of tea transports your spirit right back to memo ries of a more leisurely era. It's the perfect brew to re lax with -- when writing cards, making shopping lists, wrapping gifts or sim ply wheh a neighbor drops by to chat. Phone 385-0404 Children love to fanta size, especially at Christ mas-time and this holiday season's fashions are sure to delight their most whim sical moods. Ethnic looks seem made just to order for the young set, for wearing to holiday parties or for receiving as gifts. Little girls will look ador able in the latest peasant skirts with full-sleeved blouses and vests. Hand- smocked dresses, apron looks, and lots of eyelet all contribute to the folk-fash- • ion effect. Velveteens, laces, taf fetas and ribbon trims will be making the party scene, sometimes in the whimsical form of overalls! For casual holiday wear, sweaters are hooded, often ethnically striped, usually bright and bold. Other sweater looks are glittery for the season. Slick looks are favored also, with cir€ capes and jackets taking a shine to the holidays. The American Indian in fluence is evident this sea son as beads and feathers add a native touch to young fashions, while Ka* buki sleeving and obi sash ing reflect the Orient. Legs Shimmer and Shine for Holidaya Legs reflect the excite ment of the season with hosiery that literally shim mers and shines. Knee-highs with silver metallic streaks, or in shiny nylon add a touch of glitter to younger fashions. Pantyhose glitters and shines in nylon silvers and golds, sometimes provoca tively seamed with Lurex. Completing the spar kling holiday picture are gold and silver sandals or embroidered slippers for leisure.
