Margaret Karas 385-4934 Zabroskls Grandparents Twice In Month November has been a beautiful month for Myra and Stan Zabroski with the birth of two grandchildren. Herb and Lynn Zabroski, formerly of Lqkemoor, named their ba^y boy John Patrick Michael, after two grandfathers and a great grandfather. John weighed in at 10 lbs., 11 •_> oz. The maternal grandparents, John and Gail Monteleone of McHenry, are especially delighted as John Patrick Michael is the first boy baby in the family, joining five girls. Also excited is sister Lisa, who will now have a live baby to play with at Christmas. P.J. and Mike Odarczenko, Stan and Myra's youngest daughter, and son-in-law, i became the happy parents of * Ten Jean, 6 lbs., 10 oz., Nov. 28. Joan and Ivan Odarczenko of Lakemoor are the paternal grandparents. Teri Jean is P.J. and Mike's first child, so a new era has begun for them. May these gifts from God bring great happiness. LIBRARY STORY Our local library in com parison with the Chicago Public Library? Willard Pierce remembered a poem about the Mind men and an elephant but not knowing the title, asked the C.P.L. to find it for him. The personnel in Chicago were unable to locate this piece, but it was searched out by the librarian at the McHenry Nunda library! "The Blind Men and the Elephant" by John Godfrey Saxe, is a thought provoking poem which shows the fallacy of assuming a small part is a whole truth. Your library may not be very large, but try it when you have a question or need information. Call 385-6303, or better still, see for yourself what is available. Then you will be able to judge the complete picture, not just a segment as the blind men in John Saxe's poem did. LAKEMOOR VILLAGE NEWS The 1978 vehicle stickers are now on sale at the Lakemoor municipal building Monday evenings, Carol Schmidt, village clerk, states. If that time is not convenient, she can be reached at her home by calling 385-117. Also, if any senior citizens are unable to pick up the stickers, delivery can be made to them. Carol is also the McHenry county rabies control registrar. She has the 1978 McHenry county rabies tags. A cer tificate from a veterinarian showing rabies shots have been given must be presented at the time of purchase. Members of the board and officials of Lakemoor and their spouses will be attending the McHenry county municipal association Christmas party Dec. 12, in Crystal Lake. It is always informative to share views with other persons in government. SPECIAL DAYS Some of our favorite people are having celebrations this week. Edna Garbacz has a birthday Dec. 8 and Rusty Hueckstaedt's is Dec. 10. On Dec. 11, Jimmy Johnson, Jr. (J.J.J.) celebrates his, with Debbie Skelton, Joanna Mentzer and Curtis Freeman sharing Dec. 12. Renee Johnson adds another year Dec. 13, and Andreas (aka as Andy) Kowal will party with Alyce Dec. 14. Happy anniversaries are wished for Judy and Jerry Brizzi Dec. 9, and a special salute to dear Sam and Chris Sances Dec. 10. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nixon also celebrate that day. MEET AND EAT Persons over 60 years of age are welcome for luncheon at the McHenry Moose hall on Route 120, sponsored by the McHenry area Meet and Eat program. This is a funded operation, with local work done by volunteers, who serve as greeters, set-up and clean-up persons, and general helpers. George Collette, the McHenry program director, is trying to set up car pools in our area, so that those seniors able to drive to the Moose hall will bring neighbors along who have no transportation. For more information call 385-5333. What a pleasant way to get proper nutrition and spend time with old and new friends.
