The meeting will be held at the community house, 1717 N. Sunset, at 7:30 p.m. Marion Batka and Maria Sieracki will be hostesses. The meeting is open to any woman resident of~ Lakeland Park or Lakeland Shores. Any member who cannot attend and who has not made their reservations for the Christmas party next Thursday evening should contact Anne or Sharon right away. Also you are reminded to bring a gift not more than $3 for your Pollyanna or secret pal to the party. If you are attending the party and don't have a secret pal, call Anne. Final plans for the children's Christmas party will be discussed at the meeting Thursday night. Reservations must be made for the party by 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9. Do plan to bring your child to this fun party. Marie Cross traveled down to Palatine to have Thanksgiving dinner with her grandchildren, Bob and Peter Botthof, while their parents Pete and Joan went up to visit relatives i# northern Wisconsin. Marie's Thanksgiving day was ex­ tended unexpectantly into a weekend because of the snowy weather. Everyone including Banor were happy with grandmother's unexpected min-vacation. Lester and Mary Dobbins spent their holiday with their daughter, Ellen, and son-in- law, James, and grand­ children, Todd, Mary Lynn, and Jimmy Iddings. After a delicious dinner Lester and Mary took their granddaughter Mary Lynn back to McHenry for the weekend. During the holiday weekend Lester and Mary's grandson, Michael Dobbins, surprised them with a visit. He came in from Charleston, 111., where he is a freshman at Eastern. Mary Pautz was the expert cook at her home Thanksgiving day and her husband John and daughter Tina appreciated her talent. John's father and his wife, Norman and Lois Pautz, were here from Beloit, Wis., to enjoy Thanksgiving in Lakeland Park. It was a fun holiday for the Pautz family. The David Nylander family spent four days in Iowa and enjoyed the delicious dinner Charlene's mom, Gertrude Gaylor, prepared. David, Charlene, Jeffrey, Christopher, Julie, Eric and Timothy en­ joyed their visit to Newton, Iowa, and were happy their relatives from Princeton were there also. Charlene's brother and his wife, Bruce and Barb Gaylor and their children, Dawn, Alan and Carmen, had a fun visit at grandmother's home and enjoyed their mini trip in spite of the bad weather they ran into on their way home. Bruce, Sue, Joel, Julie and Emily Warren visited two homes in Burlington Thanksgiving day. First stop was the Julian Warren home where they visited Bruce's family. The next stop was to Sue's parent's home, also in Burlington. The William Weiderts were delighted to have their family together for such a happy holiday. Wally and Lea Nuss and their children, Cheryl, Brian, Marty and Terri, were guests at Leah's sister Norma's home in Chicago Thanksgiving day. In all twenty-eight family members were on hand for the delicious feast. Wally and Leah were happy their son Brian was home from Eureka college and brought his friend Dawn along for the fun celebration. Ron, Joyce and Andy Braun spent a relaxing four days at their home in Spooner, Wis., at Thanksgiving. Joyce prepared a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings and they had a nice time celebrating the holiday together. Steve and Anne Moore and their children, Kevin, Brian and Suzi, traveled into Chicago Thanksgiving day. They en­ joyed their visit at the home of John and Blanche Blaney, Anne's parents. Of course grandma fixed a delicious turkey dinner and grandpa made sum no one was thirsty. Other giiests included Anne's sisters Mary Blaney and Pat Catiglione. Pat's husband Hon and their children, Christie, Michael and Jean, were also there from DesPlaines. Steven's mom, Anna Moore, stopped by for a visit as did Mary's friend Chris Cairns and everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The Richard Muchala family were happy mom was the cook Thanksgiving day as Rosemary prepared another delicious holiday dinner. Richard's mother, Vicki, was visiting from Chicago and her grand­ children, Debora, Richard, Dawn, Sherry and Trade, were glad their grandmother was here to share their holiday fun. Tom, Elke, Rochelle Krak twelve hour drive Kas., for their Thanksgiving. They visited friends of Tom's, Margit and Larry Davenport. Tom and Larry have been friends since 1963 when they met in Frankfurt, Germany. With the good time everyone was having the weekend was just too short! John and Sharon Gacek with children, John, Antoinette, and Robert, spent their Thanksgiving in Chicago. They stopped in to see parents Ed­ mund and Dorothy Kurowski and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fliss. The Gacek's continued on to visit parents Robert and Irene DeSilva. Sharon and John enjoyed visiting with Sharon's sister Donna Marie and her boy friend Danny Gillespie, and Aunt Nora. After a delicious dinner there was more visiting with the Mydlowski family, Danny and Jacqui, Aunt Virginia, Patty and boyfriend Doug, Uncles Richard and Henry, and grandmother Antoinette. Buffalo Grove guests were Helen Wrona and daughter, Alysia, who had a very important announcement to make. Alysia announced her engagement to Marty, with the wedding in the near future. John and Antoinette enjoyed playing with cousins Dannielle and Vanessa and were sorry to see the day end. Dick, Beverly and Linda Walinski celebrated their Thanksgiving in Elk Grove village at the home of Bev's sister Ilene and husband Ray Niven and children David, Kenny, Cathy and John. Sue Gibson, (also of Lakeland Park) with children Dennis and Debbie and friend Drexell joined other family members, John. Maureen and their children John Patrick, and Mark Fiore, Dennis and Maria Fitzgerald, and Bev's mom Gert Fandre who was in from California enjoyed the delicious dinner prepared by Ilene. After dinner the children, John Patrick, Mark, David, Kenny, Cathy, John and Linda went bowling with dads Ray and Dick. Sounds like everyone had a very enjoyable day. WEDDING BELLS Wedding bells will ring for Cheryl Nuss, daughter of Wally and Leah Nuss. Her proud parents are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter to Doug Groh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Art Groh of Crystal Lake. The young couple have chosen Aug. 5 for their wedding . day. He made his debut at McHenry hospital Friday, Nov. 18 and weighed 6 lbs., lSVfc oz., and was 18 Inches long when his mom and dad first saw him. Happy maternal grand­ parents are Jim and Beverly Longhway of McHenry and equally happy paternal grandparents are Clarence and Bernice Etten of Ringwood. Our congratulations to the new parents and a warm hello to handsome Thomas Donald Etten! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Natalie Krak celebrated her twelfth birthday recently. Mom, Elke, Dad, Tom and sister Rochell took Natalie to the Farmer's Almanac for a very delicious dinner. Happy birthday Natalie! UNDER THE TREE Several women from Lakeland Park celebrated Marie Cross's birthday with a trip to. Chicago. • Gladys Kopsell, Ruth Roach, Ceilia (Petey) Oakford, Shirley Koch, Alice Sullivan, Beverly Walinski, Frances Kostka, and Marie Cross went to the Walnut room at Field's department store for a luncheon under the giant Christmas tree. They did not have much time for shopping as there was a 2- hour wait in line for lunch at the famous Walnut Room. The ladies enjoyed their delicious lunch, and Marie was thrilled with the lovely charm she received honoring her birthday. CANDLE OCCASIONS Dec. 8 is a special day for two special young ladies in out- area. Meg Oakford will be 15 years old Thursday and Eva Steinsdoerfer will have seven candles on her cake. Joyce Braun will hear the birthday song at her home Dec. 9. Dec. 10 is special for David Bremer and Christopher Walsh. Christopher will turn 6 years old. Michael Johnson, Keith Fardella and Frank LaRocco all celebrate Dec. 11. Keith will have six candles on his bir­ thday cake. Ed Gladma%will celebrate Dec. 12 and'Dec. 13 Danny Parisi, Robyn Mercure.
