Loss of memory As I grow older I find there are three things I have trouble remembering: (1) faces; (2) names; (3) I can't remember what the third is! SPORTS EDITOR There were so many upsets in pro football last Sunday that even the famed Gaylord system bit the dust. Just learned that our long time friend. "Zeke" Bacon, has been hospitalized way out there in Arizona. They won't keep him down too long. Took in the children's program at Edgebrook School Tuesday and found the gym packed with parents and grandparents. Mrs Leighty did a bang-up job with those little ones. That age old question "What do you want for Christmas" between man and wife is get ting close to the deadline. » The Bears won a must game i from the Packers, but none can t say the Chicago team is a high f scoring team. So is this column £ Now the Bears have to win £ next Sunday for a chance to \ enter the playoffs. Never a i doubt. They will make it. * ' • Christmas cards keep pouring in and we love every one. Sonye cards are too beautiful to throw away. All kind thoughts are carried in our memories. Hear tell that school vacation starts next week. That will keep the mamas busy. They may call it a trade, but it was actually a sale when Bill Veeck sent Jim Spencer packing for a bundle of Yankee money. Bill may be building up his bank roll to sign Bobby Bonds to a long term contract. While Spencer was a real fancy first baseman, the Sox had to make room for Lamarr Johnson and his big bat. "Red" Winkel thinks the Sox should have sent Brian Downing and whatever else to the Cubs for Morales. Not a bad idea. McllENRY REC. LADIES TUES. < NITE BOWLING 12-12-77 7 P.M.
