McCullom Lake Mary Jo Farrell 344-1575 Recreational Vehicles Barred From Streets Better late than never, they always say; and although the news from the village board meeting is pretty old, here it is. There were warnings from the board that some of the people breaking laws around '.me village are going to be in trouble. The snowmobilers and mini-bike riders who persist in riding up and down the streets will be ticketed from now on - snowmobiles and mini-bikes are off-the-road vehicles, and they should stay off the road. I know how frightening it is to be driving after dark and to suddenly see coming toward you a bright light, right in your lane of traffic. Chances are that light belongs to a snowmobile or a mini-bike, and chances are that the person riding it will get out of the way before you hit him. but you can never be too sure, and it's a panicky feeling. Parking at the beach is prohibited unless you have a village sticker, or a guest pass, and this ordinance will be Jttifttrced Vfcr^strictty from now $n See the village cjerk if you Reed a guest pass. Cars without a village sticker or a guest pass Will be ticketed. At the Feb 28 board meeting, Edward Hammer will present an alternate sewage treatment plan that some villagers might be interested in hearing. All residents are encouraged to attend this and all village board meetings Meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month at the Mc Cullom Lake Beach House at 8 p.m. VILLAGE CLERK Vehicle stickers can be ob tained from the village clerk, Lesley Curran, during her Jiours. which are Wednesdays j from 3 to 7 p.m , or by making i an appointment with her by J phone. Insulating walls and attics is helpful, but insulation around heating ducts may be more important. Hot air often leaks from duct joints. Where ducts pass through unheated space -- in the basement, attic or walls -- heat can be lost to radiation and convection. Seal the joints and wrap all accessible ducts with ^t least two inches of batt in sulation.
