"The label identifies tax­ payers so we can process returns rapidly and speed refunds to the correct ad­ dress," according to Gary V. Ey, manager of the revenue department's tax processing division. "Taxpayers should double- check the label to see that in­ formation on it is correct. A mistake on the address or a transposed digit in the Social Security number, for example, can add weeks to the time it takes to process the return," he said. Ey said a taxpayer could correct any mistakes by drawing a line through the incorrect information on the label and printing the correction directly on the label. Persons who did not receive a pre-addressed label, Ey said, should make sure that names, addresses, and Social Security numbers are printed correctly on the return to avoid refund delays. He said forms information, and assistance are available free of charge by calling the Department of Revenue at 641- 2150 in Cook county and 1-800- 252-8972, a toll-free number, elsewhere in the state. CHURCH NEWS During the Lenten season, Masses will be held each Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Christ the King church. On Saturdays there will be a Holy Hour from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Parent sessions for First Confession are Monday, Feb. 13 and 20, and for First Com­ munion, Monday. Feb. 27 and March 6, from 8 to 9 p.m. at the Religion center. These classes are conducted by Father D E. Tranel for the parents in preparation for the reception of these sacraments. The purpose of these meetings is to provide a review of the fundamentals of Catholic belief and practice on an adult level and suggested ways of presenting these beliefs to children CLUBSPEAKER Karen Hoffman of the sheriff's department spoke to the members of the Wonder Workers 4-H club at a recent meeting on the Illinois Crime Prevention system The 4-H'ers learned that they can obtain a number kit from the Farm Bureau with which they can number articles and if these articles should be stolen and later confiscated by the police, they can be quickly returned to the owner through the record of the numbers At another meeting, Co- leader Ellen Linamen showed pictures and told about her trip to Greece Mrs Linamen and Co-leader Betty Harney are helping the 4- H'ers get ready for the Share the Fun night which will be held in April.
