Ringwood News 385-8037 653-9262 728-0343 A.F.5. Chapter Members Guests Of Walklngtons The McHenry A.F.S. chapter met in the home of Paid and Althea Walkington last Wed­ nesday evening. Rondi Cunat, a member of the high school A.F.S. club, presented- the plans for an exchange of high school students from Muscle Shoals, Ala., for a week in April with McHenry students returning there the following week.r Following the discussion, the Walkingtons' A.F.S. son, Christer Niklasson, showed pictures of Sweden. There were twenty-two present for the discussion and to enjoy Christer's presentation about his homeland. MOVE TO INDIANA The Walter Bidlack family was honored at several farewell gatherings this past week. Walt and Martha with their three children, Lauri, Doug and Matt, moved to Straughn, Ind., last weekend and we wish them well. They will be greatly missed. EASTER SERVICES A combined parish Sunrise service will be held at the Ringwood church at 6:30 a.m. followed by breakfast at 7:15. Hie service will be conducted by the youth of both churches. Regular Easter services will be at 9:15 a.m. in Ringwood and 11 a.m. in Greenwood. VISITORS FROM ALASKA Ben and Lois Jacobs had a chance to get acquainted with their newest grandchild, 3- month-old Travis Rupp, when he and his mother, Linda (Jacobs) Rupp, spent some time here visiting family and friends. They were joined by his daddy, Ken, for a few days before they started the return trip to their home at Eagle River, Canada, located near Anchorage. FLORIDA WEATHER The weatherman was very cooperative for John and Ila Hogan and Urb and Dorothy Bauer on their recent trip to Florida and they have suntans to prove it. Some of the places they visited in their sightseeing included Sea World, Disney World, Circus World, Busch Gardens, Cypress Garden and Silver Springs. The one rainy day was at St. Petersburg where they attended the dog races. Among the souvenirs brought home were oranges from Florida and pecans from Georgia. HERE AND THERE Paul, Althea, Lee Walkington and Christer Niklasson spent last weekend at Legend Lake, Wis., with the Alvin Benoy family. They did do some snowmobiling and sledding Saturday but by Sunday the snow was getting very soft. . John and Ann Hogan of Mountain, Wis., and daughters, Dorothy and Tracy, spent last weekend with his folks, the senior John Hogans. On Palm Sunday, other members of the Hogan family joined the folks for a lot of catch-up con­ versation. Unfortunately, John's sisters, Mary and Pat, were unable to be there. Mary (Hogan) Sonnemaker with her husband, Earl, spent Mother's day weekend at Rock- ford college with their son, Randy, a student there. Lt. Col. Sonnemaker is stationed at Omaha, Neb., with the family. Their sons, Jeff and Scott, will be spending Easter vacation here with the senior Hogans. Art and Katy Christopher, with daughter Patty, attended the graduation of Dave Christopher from Ag Short course at Madison last Saturday. They were joined by Diane and Gary Linstad and Bob and Penny (Linstad) Sch­ midt. THAT DARN ICE! Charles Tonyan had the misfortune to slip on some ice a couple of weeks ago getting out of his car and is now getting around with a cast on his broken ankle. He lives in Woodale. Michael Woods is hobbling around these days with a steel brace on his leg as a result of falling on ice getting into his car. We wish a speedy recovery to both of these men. 4-HCLUB The Busy-Three 4-H club held its monthly meeting March 13. The meeting was called to order at 7:45 by President Bob Doessel. The minutes were read, attendance was taken, and old and new business was discussed. Mr. Tomlinson told us about a trip being planned for all 4-Hers at Great America this summer. John Van Fleet told us about a meeting that he and four other club members attended on demonstrations and speaking. Speeches were given by Paul Ries on cats, Tina Steinmetz on trees, Terri Steinmetz on rabbits, Lisa Carlson on horse care, Terri Olenick on leathercraft, and Val Stade on stuffed animals. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served. The next meeting is April 10 at 7:30. The allocation is determined on the basis of mileage in the individual townships and road districts and used for highway needs. Northern Illinois university's graduate school announces the names of area students who completed advanced degrees in December of 1977. From McHenry are Robert J. Dowe of 1412 N.
