Nolan during a 2 o'clock ceremony at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church Saturday, Aug. 19.1978. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome M. Miller of 1533 N. Draper road, McHenry. The couple plan to make their home in McHenry after their marriage. Commitments Of Marriage Vowed May 20 The Rev. William Joffee heard the commitments of marriage repeated by Pamela Ann Spengel and Martin A. Patterson at the altar of St. Mary's Catholic church, Woodstock, Saturday, May 20. The brother of the bride, Craig Spengel, sang selections of the couple accompanied at the organ by Dr. Wesley Vos during the 3 o'clock nuptial Mass. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Spengel of 1314 Old Bay road, McHenry, and the bridegroom's parents are Mrs. Judy Patterson of Woodstock and the late Dr. Thomas Patterson. The bridal gown was designed with the bodice and top part of the long accordian pleated chiffon sleeves and wide wrist band fashioned in ivory embroidered lace. Her beautiful flowing accordian pleated chiffon skirt and train fanned from the waist. The catherdal length veil was held in place with a raised lace cap, and bustled to meet the lace trimmed chapel veil. She carried a bouquet of three ivory cymbidium orchids touched with lily of the valley. Illinois State Regent, DAR Guest Speaker At Luncheon Mrs. Roland C. White, Illinois state regent, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, was the guest speaker at the annual spring luncheon meeting of the Kish- waukee Trail chapter held at the Timbers restaurant Monday, May 22. Hostesses for the luncheon include Mrs. Maynard Howell, reservations; Miss Amy Brink, table decorations; and Misses Alice and Leta Clark, greeters. The business meeting began at 11 a.m. with written annual reports of officers and chair men presented as well as a report of the May DAR round table which was held at the General Henry Dearborn chapter, Chicago. Following the business meeting the luncheon began at 12:30. Mrs. Roland C. White, featured afternoon speaker, was born and educated in Iowa. She is presently an account executive and assistant to the president of an advertising firm. She has been active in DAR and CAR, both on the local, state and national levels. She is presently a member of the Dewalt Mechlin chapter of Chicago, which has 330 members, has been chapter regent twice, and has held most of the other offices in the local chapter. On the state level, Mrs. White was state regent until April, 1978, has been state chairman of the program committee and state chairman and editor of the state yearbook. On the national level, she has been national program chairman and on the NSDAR Speakers staff. In addition to her work in DAR, she has volunteered, much time to other organizations including the Girl Scouts of Chicago, Chicago S y m p h o n y O r c h e s t r a l association, Heart association. Goodwill Industries and the Episcopal church, to mention a small portion of her con tributions. Mrs. White has received many honors including Beverly Hills Woman of the Year award and a citation for youth work by Mayor Richard Daley. Kim Spengel of McHenry attended her sister as maid of honor while two other sisters, Joy and Ann Spengel, Carol Zemeckis and Debra Freund, all of McHenry, acted as bridesmaids. The attendants were gowned in handkerchief tiered ivory chiffon print dresses. Each wore fresh flowers in her hair and carried a cascading bouquet of greens. The duties of best man to the bridegroom were handled by Thomas Patterson of Des Moines, Iowa. Groomsmen included James Patterson of Chicago, Craig and Gary Spengel, both of McHenry and brothers of the bride, and Curt Miller of Wonder Lake. Scott Spengel of McHenry was usher while Keith Spengel of McHenry filled the role of ring bearer. Both are brothers of the bride. Mrs. Spengel wore a pale pink tiered chiffon gown while the bridegroom's mother chose a light green princess styled dress with chiffon sleeves. Immediately following the wedding, 300 friends and relatives toasted the bridal couple at Crescent Bay Lan ding, Johnsburg. A McHenry home awaits their return from a honeymoon trip to Poconos Mountains, Penn. Both are graduates of Marian Central Catholic high school, Woodstock. The bride graduated from Sawyer Business college and is em ployed as a secretary at the McHenry State bank. Illinois on May 13. The tables were decorated in a spring notif using spring flowers and garden carts. Mrs. Catherine Evans was chair person for this event. Following the buffet dinner, president Janet Vierke presided at the business meeting. She welcomed members of the sister chapter, Gamma Psi, who were present. Grace Hajeck and committee entertained the group with music, "Accentuating the Positive". Carrie Carlson, Research chairperson, spoke on a recommitment to Delta Kappa Gamma ideals. President Janet Vierke gave a summary of her term and encourage members to give support to the new officers. Installation was then held. The new officers for 1978-79 are: Sue Anderson, president; Marlene Goetschel, Terri Derrenberger, second vice president; Margaret Numstrat, r e c o r d i n g s e c r e t a r y ; corresponding secretary, Turela Garrett. The new president, Mrs. Anderson, gave her goals for her term. The group responded with a show of support for their new leader. Meeting adjourned. It will be held at Martinetti's restaurant, Crystal Lake, at 11 o'clock Thursday morning, May 25. Eberts, a graduate of Elim Bible college, N.Y., was raised among street gangs in Canada. He will give his testimony on how his life was changed through Christ. Women Aglow is a non- demoninational organization. Finalize RBCHS Alumni Plans For Dinner-Dance Plans for the annual dinner- dance for the alumni of Rich mond-Burton Community high school have been completed, according to Rick Barber, president of the alumni association. The date is set for July 15 and will be held at Andre's Steak House in Rich mond. The get-acquainted hour will start at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 and the dance at 9:30. Music will be provided for the young and the old to enjoy. All RBCHS alumni and their guests as well as present and former RBCHS teachers are invited to attend. Tickets may be obtained from Cole's Pharmacy, State Bank of Rich mond, or Mrs. William (Lily) Karls, Richmond.
