A color theme of green, yellow and white was carried out in floral decorations and the attire of the wedding party. Two hundred fiends and relatives toasted the couple at the Johnsburg Country Club after the ceremony. A honeymoon trip to Acapulco was taken prior to residency in the McHenry home of the newlyweds. The bfide is a 1973 graduate of Marian Central Catholic high school and she attended Bradley university, Peoria, for 2 years. She is presently employed as a secretary at Travenol Laboratory, Round l>ke. The bridegroom graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1973 and works for the Chicago Northwestern railroad as ^carpenter. Plans Initiated By Women's Unity Candle Club For Community Picnic When the Lakeland Park Women's club met Thursday evening, June 8, the annual picnic was the most important item on the agenda. The date is Sunday, Aug. 6, and in case of rain the affair would be post poned until Sunday, Aug. 13. Barbara Rathman, vice president and Ways and Means chairlady, was very busy getting all picnic committees organized. There will be an auction again at the picnic with proceeds from this sale to be divided between the Women's club and the Conservation club. Donations of "white elephants" will be gratefully accepted for the sale. Members served refresh ments by hostesses Ruth Roach and Barbara Burke, before President Sharon Gacek called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance recited in unison. The president announced that she had appointed # Lyda Radisch to continue serving as publicity chairlady for the club. The minutes of the May meeting were read and ap proved; after which Mary Lou Pautz reported on the bus trip to Wisconsin Thursday, June 15. The bus will leave the Market Place parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Mary Dobbins, craft club chairlady, reported on the very fine sales being made of the craft items; and it was unanimously agreed that she would be responsible for dispersing the funds from the craft sales for the club and community house needs. It was reported that the housewares sales netted the club a substansial profit and it was unanimously agreed to give the club's annual donation to the McHenry Rescue squad. One guest and one new member were introduced and received a very warm welcome. This is a very active club, interested in the com munity and its affairs. There will be a meeting Thursday, July 14, when Marion Batka and and Maria Sieracki will be the hostesses. Final preparations will be made for the picnic at this meeting, as there will be no club meeting in August. Keen-Agere Luncheon Set Thursday Noon . This Thursday, June 15, at St. Thomas Catholic church's Loras hall, corner of Oak street and Route 176, Crystal Lake, at noon, the Keen-Agers will have their monthly meeting. Keen- Agers are asked to bring a dish to pass. The church supplies the meat. Following the luncheon, those interested will gather outdoors on the lawn of the church for games or an opportunity to just visit together. Those wishing to play cards are asked to please bring their own deck. At this time, first chance will be given to the Keen-Agers to sign up for the various trips for the coming months. During the luncheon the Sunshine rhythm band of McHenry county will play. St. Thomas the Apostle's attempt to reach out to the often times forgotten segment of society has formed into a group over the period of the last five years and have called themselves the Keen-Agers (senior citizens, retired, over 60). They have been involved in innumerable activities, spiritual growth programs, renewal days, etc. Brought Alight By Newlyweds Following an exchange of marital vows before the Rev. Howard Olson at Fox Lake Baptist church, Fox Lake, Fay Louise Liberty and Richard Townsend Pearson both lit a candle designed with the text of their wedding invitation and a photo of the bridal couple. The altar was decorated with a center floral piece of white and pink carnations and pom poms and two white can- dlebrum accented with mat ching flowers and ivy for the 2 o'clock ceremony. Musical selections chosen by the couple included solo renditions of "The Wedding Song" and "The Lord's Prayer". The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald G. Liberty of 5107 W. Fountain lane, McHenry, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Burget T. Pearson of R.R. 6, Box 232, Rockford, 111. The bride wore a sheer white gown with rayon Venise lace trim around the illusion neckline on the empire bodice. Medallions of lace accented the long slim sleeves and high neck band. The A line skirt and chapel train were banded in lace above the hemline and formed a design on the front of the gown. Her veil was finger tip in length and edged in rayon Venise lace. It featured a blusher veil and was attached to a small lace pearl beaded cap. She carried a cascading bouquet of miniature white carnations, pink bridal roses and stephanotis. The bride was attended by Kathy Robinson of Elk Grove Village as maid of honor while Nina James of Wheaton; Cindy Pearson of St. Paul, Minn, and Sheri Pearson of Rbckford, sisters of the bridegroom, acted as bridesmaids. Heidi Miller of Antioch filled the role of flowergirl. The attendants were gowned in full length empire style dresses in complementary shades of peach-toned pink with capped sleeves and trimmed with white lace and pink ribbon appliques. The flower girl was dressed in a Victorian style pink floral full length gown with old fashioned buttons and embroidered edges. Nosegay bouquets of white and pink carnations and white roses were carried by the attendants. The duties of best man were handled by Steve Mays of West Chicago and groomsmen in cluded a cousin of the bridegroom, Don Williams of Rockton; Dave Liberty of Justice, the bride's brother; and Mike Marchal. The bridegroom's cousin, Russ Lindberg of Belvidere, was ringbearer and ushering duties were carried out by cousins of the groom, Ron Williams and Kevin Walsh; Ken O'Neil, the bride's cousin; and Steve Eddy. Mrs. Liberty wore an empire style gown in a rose-toned floral print while the bridegroom's mother chose an empire style dress of aqua with a chiffon cape. Approximately 300 guests toasted the bridal couple at the church reception which im mediately followed the ceremony. Upon their return from a honeymoon trip to San Francisco, Calif, where the bridegroom was bom, the newlyweds will make their home in St. Paul, Minn. The bride is a 1971 McHenry Community high school graduate and a 1977 Wheaton college graduate. She is a secretary and free lance writer. The bridegroom graduated from Honenegah high school in 1973, from Wheaton college in 1977, and attended Luther Seminary. He is a youth minister, salesman and seminary student. DeWANE STUDIO Grandmothers Diamonds Worn By June Bride A necklace and earrings which held the diamonds from her maternal grandmother's engagement and wedding rings was worn by Linda Marie Catanzaro when she became the bride of David John Boberg Saturday, June 10. A banner made by the bride and bearing the words "You Are Loved" was displayed at the altar along with palm ferns when Rev. Edmund Petit blessed the vows of the couple at St. Patrick's Catholic church during a 12 noon nuptial Mass. Among solo musical selec tions offered by the bride's sister, Jean Catanzaro, were "May Each Day" and "One Hand One Heart" with Mrs. Dorothy Weber at the organ. Roald Tweet of Rock Island acted as commentator during the Mass and the guest book was passed by Karen Zarcone of Chicago. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph G. Catanzaro, Jr., of 2404 S. Hyde Park, McHenry, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Russell H. Boberg of 111 Main street, Cambridge, 111. The bridal gown was fashioned of white organza over taffeta and designed with a high waistline, capped sleeves and a Queen Anne neckline. Venice lace was hand-sewn over the entire bodice and accented the skirt from the bodice to the hemline. Her floor length veil was styled of three tiers of netting and fell from a matching lace cap. She carried a round nosegay of silk flowers consisting of blue, yellow and white roses and carnations. The bride was attended by her sister, Jean Catanzaro of McHenry, as maid of honor. McHenry sisters of the bride, Mary Kay, Debbie and Angela Catanzaro; Kay Boberg, the bridegroom's sister from Cambridge; Marna Geerts of Milan; and Mary Pierce of McHenry, were bridesmaids. Two other sisters, Roseanne and Buffy Catanzaro, both of McHenry, were respectively junior bridesmaid and flower girl. Full length blue frost sleeveless gowns of crepe back satin were worn by the at tendants. They were styled with V necklines and the full skirts were gathered at the empire waistlines to fall in soft pleats down the front of the gowns. The junior bridesmaid and flower girl wore high waisted long sweetheart print dresses in blue with long sleeves gathered at the wrists, square necklines and long ribbon sashes. The attendants carried white lace baskets with wood fibers, carnations and silk roses in blue and yellow made by the bride and maid of honor. The bridegroom was assisted by Jim McKoon of Nauvoo as best man with groomsmen including Lee and Brian Boberg, brothers of the groom from Cambridge; MikeShawgo of Rock Island; Mike Sondag of Urbana; Greg Johnson of Davenport; and Mike Larson of Andover. Ushers were Mike Nolan of Burbank; John Fetter of Springfield; Lyman Miller of Eldridge, la; and Mike Gelaude of East Moline. Mrs. Catanzaro chose to wear an antique white qiana blouse and cream tan qiana skirt of ballarina length while the mother of the bridegroom wore a mint green full length knit gown. The John Evans inn of Crystal Lake was the setting for the wedding reception where approximately 200 guests congratulated the newlyweds after the ceremony. Following a honeymoon trip to Montreal, Canada, the couple will make their home in Skokie. The bride is a 1973 graduate of Marian Central Catholic high school, Woodstock, and a 1977 graduate of Augustana college, Rock Island, where she majored ih English- Journalism. She is employed as a teacher at Jordan Catholic school, Rock Island. The bridegroom graduated from Cambridge high school in 1971, and from Western Illinois university, Macomb, in 1976, where he majored in Finance and Accounting. He is a manager trainee with the First Federal Saving & Loan association of Wilmette. Wisconsin Trip Planned By S M I L E S A trip to the "House on the Rock" in Wisconsin Saturday, June 17, is being planned by the S-M-I-L-E-S.
